In this role as a proactive Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of world class digital products for our key strategic pricing and fundamental data initiatives.  You will work closely with stakeholders and our development teams to understand business needs, turning them into requirements and create innovative products for a diverse portfolio of projects and initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Liaise with business owners and key partners to capture and validate requirements based on the product vision and roadmap.
  • Create low level user stories, with high engagement from the technology team, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Facilitate workshops and deliver presentations to capture requirements and generate feedback.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of workflow models, processes, applications, and data dictionaries.
  • Be efficient in the collection and aggregation of data from multiple sources to gain greater insights of our customers, both internal and external.
  • Maintain the product backlog ensuring a prioritised pipeline of work is available ahead of time.
  • Review outputs with developers and the test team ensuring the final delivered solution meets the desired business objectives.
  • Communicate product developments ensuring the business units are engaged throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Attend regular user forums to ensure the product continues to deliver business benefits and gather product enhancements that drive continuous improvement.
  • Support the business users helping smooth transition from development activities into production by providing product knowledge during training, UAT and go live activities.
  • Strengthen and support a high-performance team environment, ensuring the team establishes and maintains good working relationships with internal and external partners.

 

 

 

 

Skills and Experience

 

Essential

  • Experience as a Business Analyst in a software delivery data focussed role.
  • Proven track record of gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories
  • Good knowledge of Excel for data manipulation
  • Strong stakeholder management experience with the ability to align departments throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Proven experience of maintaining a backlog of requirements in a central repository such as JIRA.
  • Ability to facilitate workshops
  • Highly numerical with analytical skills

 

Desirable

  • An understanding of the technical architecture of complex web applications and web technologies including RESTful APIs
  • Good knowledge of Structured Query Language (SQL)
  • Knowledge of business intelligence and analytics platforms – PowerBI, Tableau, Quicksight.
  • Experience of working in an agile development environment (SCRUM, KANBAN)
