The FP&A Manager role will support the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team in guiding the business through its next phase of growth. The position will be counted on to deliver high quality data analysis and planning and decision support as well as helping enhance processes to scale with expansion of the business and Ardelyx team. Success in this role will require learning agility to work across diverse needs in FP&A as well as working closely with the broader accounting and finance team on shared deliverables. The position ideally will be based out of the Ardelyx headquarters in Waltham, MA, while working virtually with team members spread across locations in the US. This role will report to the Director, FP&A. 
 
Responsibilites:
  • Partner with the FP&A leads in providing planning and analytical support across Commercial, R&D, Manufacturing and G&A functions as well as company financials overall, including expense and headcount forecasting for assigned departments
  • Take ownership of assigned analyses and monthly processes integral to efficiently track and report financial performance of the business, including providing detailed support for budget variance explanations and journal entry investigations and reclasses in support of accounting during monthly close
  • Provide timely delivery of robust reporting data and outputs to key stakeholders
  • Enhance processes by quickly building subject matter expertise and proposing improvements with each planning cycle and in partnership with interfacing functions (e.g., Accounting, HR, IT, etc.)
  • Perform ad-hoc duties and responsibilities as capabilities are demonstrated and the opportunity arises with potential areas to expand into include business partner support for select department leaders across S&M, R&D and G&A functions, enhancement of department reporting tools, commercial finance analytics, clinical trial costing, supply chain cost planning, and utilization of financial and HR systems
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting / financial discipline, or equivalent experience with 8+ years of industry experience, with experience within a pharmaceutical/biotech company or consulting firm preferred 
  • Strong experience with MS Office (Excel/PowerPoint) required, experience working with financial systems (NetSuite, Essbase) a plus
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to extract, organize, and quickly process key information
  • Strong knowledge of accounting processes and impact on financial results
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail
  • Collaborative style, with the ability to build and enhance partnership across the organization
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
Location:
  • Waltham, MA office-based hybrid position or remote
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $134,000 - $164,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
