Ardelyx was founded with a mission to discover, develop and commercialize innovative, first-in-class medicines that meet significant unmet medical needs. Ardelyx has two commercial products approved in the United States, IBSRELA®(tenapanor) and XPHOZAH® (tenapanor), as well as early-stage pipeline candidates.   
   
Purpose of the role:   

The Director Health Economics & Outcomes Research (HEOR) will be responsible for supporting HEOR activities for the Ardelyx portfolio. This role will lead the development and execution of strategies for evidence generation, data analysis and dissemination, and engagement with key stakeholders for disease state and commercialized products. It is uniquely important for our company, as this role will have the opportunity to shape our development and medical affairs evidence generation strategies.     

This individual will synthesize work across our scientific, clinical development, and commercial groups into a coherent plan to fully develop products that demonstrate and communicate value for patients, HCPs, and payers within the healthcare ecosystem.   

Position Responsibilities:    
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of RWE studies from concept through publication
  • Lead, build, and execute research partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Lead the design and delivery of key resources for payers and other stakeholders (i.e. AMCP Dossiers, etc.)
  • Lead the design, implementation, and management of health economic analyses that best define the burden of illness
  • Deliver best-practice project management oversight for all research, data generation, and study related activities 
  • Understand the payer landscape and develop networks to engage with thought leaders who can provide input to guide Ardelyx programs
  • Represent Ardelyx at internal and external meetings, nationally & internationally, where health economic discussions and outcome data is required
  • Command an expert level of understanding and in-depth scientific/medical knowledge of Ardelyx products and pipeline  
 
Position Requirements:     
  • PhD, MS/MPH, MD/DO, or PharmD required 
  • 7+ years of progressive excellence with health economics and outcomes research, with 5+ years successful track record building and executing high-value-add research agendas
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating and interacting with payers in all channels (commercial, government, private, employer groups, etc.) 
  • A comprehensive understanding of the US healthcare systems and reimbursement processes, government healthcare and public policy decision-making.  
  • Ability to work well in a cross-functional environment, as well as work independently with limited supervision
  • Maintain an ongoing current understanding of pharmaceutical and promotional compliance guidelines, laws, industry standard practice and applicable regulations
  • Continuously maintain a patient-centered approach
  • Up to 10% travel, including overnight and occasional weekend travel 
  •  Attendance at periodic national internal and external meetings    
 
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $207,563 - $253,688.  Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers.  Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity.  The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
