Position Summary:
The Senior Manager, Accounts Payable position is responsible for oversight of the accounts payable, cash disbursements, and corporate card maintenance processes, including proper adherence & execution against policies. This role will be leading a team made up of internal and outsourced (3rd party) team members in coordinating and executing activities to ensure that all financial commitments and bills are validated, accurately coded, reported and paid promptly according to documented policies and procedures and in accordance with the company’s goals. This position will be responsible for laying the foundation with creating a “procurement mindset” throughout the organization to ensure effective and efficient vendor spending. This role will be responsible for completing analytical spending analysis, including proactive coordination with multiple business functions and financial planning & analysis support, to ensure spending is consistent with the Company’s budget and on target with purchase orders.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the AP team in executing the procure to pay processes, including Customer Vendor Relations, A/P disbursements, Company corporate card compliance, 1099 and tax related matters
- Serve as Payment Agent function and oversee Procure to Pay processes
- Ensure proper spending against budgets and purchase orders
- Complete financial analysis over the cash payments; open purchase orders; etc. to assist business units with maximizing spending (i.e. begin to drive a procurement mindset amongst the business units)
- Oversee T&E spend ensuring compliance with related policies
- Drive continuous enhancement of our spending and T&E policies to ensure efficiencies while maintaining strong controls
- Manage a team to ensure timely processing of vendor invoices and expense vouchers, completing month-end G/L closure
- Oversee development, implementation and maintenance of A/P and Procure to Pay systems
- Manage & coordinate all electronic payment files for Check, ACH, Domestic/Int’l Wires & Virtual Credit Card and ensures their accuracy before transmission to bank
- Manage Expense Software Architecture & Issue Resolution Management
- Work with Legal team to ensure all financial obligations each period are documented with a Purchase Order
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field with 6 - 9 years of experience in procure to pay functions or equivalent experience
- Large ERP AP system experience, as well as 1099 filing experience
- Experience with NetSuite and Concur, as well as, system implementations
- Familiarity with accounting concepts and principles and SOX IT General Controls for purposes of month-end & quarter-end reconciliations
- Strong understanding of accounting and working knowledge of Excel
- A fast learner and has the ability to work in a fast paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with accountants, clients, and senior management
- Good communication skills for communicating with support personnel and management
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Good planning and organizational skills to balance and prioritize work efficiently
- Project management experience is a strong plus
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on additional roles on an as-needed basis as company grows
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $143,000-$175,000. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
