Position:  Facilities Assistant II (Contractor)

Location:  Hayward, CA (onsite)

Hourly pay range:  $33-$38 per hour DOE

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections and preventive maintenance on all facility equipment, including HVAC systems, vacuum pumps, generators, and more.
• Troubleshoot and repair any issues with the facility's equipment and infrastructure to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Assist with facility improvements and renovations as needed.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
• Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure the overall efficiency of the facility.
• Stay updated on the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices.
• Report directly to Facilities Senior Technician

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational or technical training in facilities maintenance or a related field is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, preferably in the biotech industry.
• Experience with working in a laboratory environment, facilities maintenance, and basic mechanical skills.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Basic computer skills
• Commitment to following all safety standards and procedures.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift and move heavy equipment and supplies.
• Willingness to be on call for emergencies.
