Consulting Associate, Business Operations and Program Management
The Consulting Associate, Business Operations and Program Management applies consulting, business operations, analytical, and program management expertise to support federal clients in a fast-paced, mission-focused environment. This role supports business operations activities including program performance reporting, financial and budget tracking, metric development and reporting and risk management. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of relevant experience, is detail-oriented, analytical, and skilled at translating complex program information into clear reports and recommendations that support leadership decision-making.
This position works closely with government stakeholders, program managers, business operations staff, and investment planning teams to monitor program health, track performance, identify risks, and ensure timely reporting across multiple initiatives.
- Support business operations activities, including program performance reporting, financial tracking, metrics management, and executive-level reporting
- Review, analyze, and maintain project plans, schedules, milestones, and performance data to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Track, monitor, and report program metrics, key performance indicators, risks, issues and dependencies
- Collaborate with program leadership, business operations staff, and investment planning stakeholders to support portfolio reporting and submission requirements
- Develop narratives, justifications, and supporting documentation for program updates, schedule changes, budget adjustments, and other reporting activities
- Prepare reports, dashboards, presentations, and briefing materials for client leadership
- Support risk management activities, including maintaining risk registers, tracking mitigation actions, and reporting program risks.
- Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, support decision-making, and improve program performance
- Attend governance meetings, working groups, and stakeholder engagements to gather information and provide program support
- Take on new responsibilities and learn the mission/business while maintaining an excellent attention to detail, finding ways to exceed client expectations
- Contribute to company service areas beyond just the project to build new skills and help the company grow by developing our capabilities and selling new business
- Contribute to our company culture, which promotes collaboration, learning, and helping others to grow and develop
- 2 to 4 years of relevant experience
- Clearance: U.S. Citizenship only (no dual citizenship). Currently holds a Public Trust level clearance or have the ability to obtain and maintain a position of trust/Federal security clearance
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree (minimum) required
- Experience supporting business operations, performance management, investment planning, and risk management
- Experience developing, analyzing, and reporting program metrics, performance measures, and operational data.
- Experience supporting financial management, budget tracking, resource planning, or program reporting activities.
- Experience maintaining project schedules, risks, issues, and status reporting artifacts
- Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and collaboration tools.
- Experience developing executive briefings, dashboards, status reports, and presentations.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on strategic objectives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience supporting federal government programs
