About the Company         

apree health – the new name for the joint Castlight Health and Vera Whole Health merger – is seeking an experienced healthcare data scientist to join our Analytics team.  apree health is a healthcare company entering an exciting new growth phase where we are adding new product offerings to our employer vertical, along with continued expansion into sectors such as health plans and the provider (clinical) side of healthcare.         

About the Team         

The Analytics team is a group of highly skilled analytic resources who work together toward a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.  Our team uses a diverse array of healthcare and product usage data to provide analytic insights that support the entire organization, including Customer Success, Product Management, Sales and Marketing, and direct patient-care teams delivering Advanced Primary Care.

  • Performing claims and EMR-based analysis to quantify impact, value & ROI for our customers & the market; help drive and strengthen our value proposition         

  • Developing and maintaining business reporting and intelligence dashboards to convey the value of our product to Customers and uncover actionable insights for our internal teams and customers.         

  • Delivering ad hoc customer reporting requests; working to shape requests into meaningful & actionable data         

  • Ensuring our data is augmented with cutting edge methodologies and algorithms to glean the maximum value from the data         

About the Job         

Our Analytics team is seeking a Senior Data Analyst, you will be successful if you excel at designing and building reporting and analytic solutions from complex and dynamic health informatics data. You will support other Technology and Clinical Solutions team members, along with team members from other departments, to analyze patterns, visualize data in effective ways, and drive organizational change. You have a natural curiosity to hypothesize and have the desire and ability to be a go-getter and try to look for the answers in data in different ways. You are not satisfied understanding the issues, instead preferring to take action, communicate your recommendations effectively and drive change using data. Working in a fast- paced environment, managing through uncertainty, and networking across apree teams to weave the right data picture are challenges that energize you. This team member will report directly to the Director of Analytics.         

Business Role and Responsibilities:         

  • Develop efficient SQL queries and Stored Procedures to satisfy data and reporting requirements.         

  • Ability to pay attention to detail to the data and the reporting requirements.         

  • Enable and support other apree team members by developing powerful and insightful reporting that will help guide the business         

  • Integrate qualitative analysis of data with the quantitative method of report-building         

  • Plan and prioritize initiatives and best practices within the informatics team to ensure a high- quality output that is based on one vision         

  • Work closely with other members of the apree team to create ad-hoc reports to support timely business decisions, service evaluation, and any project work         

  • Collaborate with internal resources to gather, curate, and build data sets needed to successfully execute our data analysis         

  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable manner. Excel at making complex concepts simple and easy to understand by those around you         

  • Participate in stakeholder meetings and present data insights to users/executives in a succinct and effective way         

  • Ability to work with and lead teams of stakeholders with differing backgrounds and job functions         

  • Others duties as assigned

Specific Requirements:

  • Master's degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or any related field is preferred         

  • Minimum 5 - 8 years of experience as a Business/Financial Analyst, Bl Engineer or Bl Analyst preferably in a Healthcare company working with large, complex data sources         

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of healthcare analytics {EMR and Healthcare claims data) experience         

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years demonstrated coding SQL skills         

  • Minimum 2 - 3 years of experience building analytics using Bl tools, such as Tableau         

  • Mastery of MS Excel, including ability to write macros, v-lookups, and pivot tables         

  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in Data Mining {i.e., SQL, ETL, complex data warehouses)         

   

Compensation:  $100k-$141k/annual salary & bonus eligible (national average, premium markets may vary)
