The ideal candidate is an experienced Procurement Professional with Subject Matter Expertise with various 3rd party products, solutions, and services. You are a self-starter and a top performer who drives results and employs a formalized sourcing process. You are both curious and a problem solver with an entrepreneurial spirit that you use to identify and solve operational opportunities. You are comfortable with ambiguity and autonomy and will be highly collaborative in your efforts to realize value (TCO) for your stakeholders and AppFolio. 

 

Your impact
  • Sourcing Life Cycle Management: Your focus will be on the vision, ideation, design, product roadmap, and at times, commercial results, innovation, and improvement of a key product portfolio. You will manage the sourcing life cycle for assigned initiatives, partnering with SMEs and stakeholders, defining scope, identifying requirements, conducting the competitive bidding process, evaluating vendors, and negotiating pricing and contract terms. 
  • Category Strategy Development: In conjunction with your key stakeholders, develop 1st generation sourcing strategies for AppFolio’s category spend by conducting a complete assessment of AppFolio’s current and future requirements, analysis of market trends and potential suppliers, analysis of TCO and opportunities to leverage changes in processes, systems, and product/services. Your category strategies should be aligned with AppFolio’s overall values.  
  • Procurement Transformation: Build and maintain collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders, introducing ideas to drive operational improvements, best practices, and operational efficiencies while assisting with the support of all systems and tools required for procurement activities.  
 
Qualifications

  • Priority Setting: Can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal. Zeros in on critical things and puts trivial items to the side. 
  • Organization and Project Management: Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deliverables simultaneously. Leverages project team members and drives the team to meet milestones. 
  • Communicating Effectively: Able to effectively communicate what we are doing and why we are doing it / Excellent communication with an intuitive ability to adjust the message for the audience, bringing clarity from often ambiguous circumstances by providing clear communication regarding our strategy (what we are doing and why). 
 
Must-Haves 
  • 10+ years of experience in strategic sourcing in a large corporate environment 
  • 10+ years of experience in negotiating highly complex contract terms for 3rd party products and services to be bundled.
  • 10+ years of experience utilizing spend analytics to identify sourcing opportunities. 
  • Experience building and maintaining executive-level stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in complex or technical indirect category strategy development and execution in a high-spend environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience. 

 

Compensation & Benefits
The base salary that we reasonably expect to pay for this role is: $125,600 to $157,000.
The actual base salary for this role will be determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to: the candidate’s skills, education, experience, etc. 
Please note that base pay is one important aspect of a compelling Total Rewards package. The base pay range indicated here does not include any additional benefits or bonuses/commissions that you may be eligible for based on your role and/or employment type.
