Job Title: Associate Manager – Integration and Special Projects
Department: Operations – Integration Strategy and Ops
 
About the Role: 
The Associate Manager will play a key role in Astrana’s growth strategy by leading M&A integration and implementation efforts and supporting other operational initiatives. They will be responsible for planning and executing projects assigned by senior leaders, involving complex initiatives with cross-functional departments. Projects include market growth, payor contract launches/conversions, new service line implementations, regulatory compliance, and special projects. The Associate Manager will collaborate with stakeholders to achieve project goals, document processes for future efficiency, and focus on improvement strategies aligned with organizational goals.

The successful Associate Manager must adapt to projects of varying size and complexity, utilizing best practice project management techniques to plan, develop, organize, monitor, risk mitigate, and integrate assigned projects. They will lead with positivity, motivating the project team to achieve objectives efficiently and effectively within agreed time, scope, cost, and performance criteria.
 
What you’ll do: 
  • Engage early in diligence and pre-close processes to enable intake, initiate planning, kick off projects, and manage the entire integration.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand all project elements, leading integration planning and project management of multiple transactions simultaneously across multiple locations.
  • Create detailed project plans with clear steps, timelines, milestones, and assigned owners, monitoring and tracking the status of all integration initiatives and escalating as needed.
  • Proactively monitor and report on project progress against baselined artifacts.
  • Identify and address risks and issues, conducting follow-ups on off-track projects, and developing strategies to resolve issues and mitigate risks.
  • Build professional relationships with key stakeholders, serving as the primary contact to coordinate integration efforts and ensure clear communication of business needs.
  • Develop scalable integration plan templates and playbooks customized for individual acquisitions or clients to ensure timely execution of deliverables.
  • Track and measure KPIs and other indicators to ensure achievement of M&A and integration goals.
  • Establish and execute post-integration transition plans for a smooth handoff to operational owners.
  • Continuously review integration processes, conduct post-mortems, and recommend improvements to leadership.
  • Manage special and ad-hoc projects related to corporate development, operations, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain a successful track record of managing end-to-end acquisition integrations and strategic implementations, demonstrating strong organizational and process-oriented skills.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with executives, department leaders, and functional staff associated with assigned projects.  
 
Key Deliverables and Performance Goals: 
  • Positively impact the Astrana Health team and client experience with implementation projects, measured by team-member engagement, post-integration surveys, and 360-degree feedback.
  • Continuously improve integration toolkits, systems, and processes, measured by iterations of specific tools (project plans, RAID logs, process flows), processes (meetings, minutes, feedback gathering), and systems (knowledge management, project planning, communication).
  • Contribute to a positive work environment and culture at Astrana Health, measured by integration team-member engagement, productivity, and growth.  
 
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 1+ years’ experience in project management, Healthcare operations, or related fields
  • Ability to independently understand, oversee, coordinate across, and communicate clearly on multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Strong verbal and written communication skill, excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills 
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and Project Management Tools

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions: 
  • Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where the expectation is to work both in the office and at home on a weekly basis. The office is located at 1600 Corporate Center Drive Monterey Park, CA 91754
  • The target pay range for this role is between $85,000 - $100,000. This salary expectation represents our national target range for this role.
