Title: Hospice Administrator
Department – Quality – Hospice
 
About the Role:
 
The Hospice Administrator will oversee the operations of the hospice function within our managed care organization. This role involves ensuring the delivery of exceptional patient care, compliance with regulatory requirements, financial management, and the supervision of hospice staff. The Hospice Administrator will report to and work closely with the VP – Clinical Relations to align hospice services with organizational goals and enhance the quality of care provided to patients and their families.

What You’ll Do:
 
Leadership and Management: 
  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the hospice function.
  • Supervise and support hospice staff, including nurses, social workers, and administrative personnel.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Patient Care: 
  • Ensure the delivery of compassionate, high-quality care to hospice patients and their families.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of individualized care plans.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and satisfaction, adjusting as necessary.
Regulatory Compliance: 
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing hospice care.
  • Secure hospice accreditation.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies.
Financial Management: 
  • Develop and manage the hospice function budget.
  • Monitor financial performance and implement strategies to achieve financial goals.
  • Ensure accurate billing and reimbursement for hospice services.
Quality Improvement: 
  • Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and operational efficiency.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of hospice services.
  • Implement evidence-based practices and innovations in hospice care.
Community and Stakeholder Relations: 
  • Build and maintain relationships with patients, families, healthcare providers, and community organizations.
  • Grow and maintain census
  • Represent the hospice function in community events and professional organizations.
  • Promote the hospice function through outreach and education.
Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Current RN license or other relevant clinical certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in hospice care, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of hospice regulations and standards.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets and financial performance.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Our organization follows a hybrid work structure where the expectation is to work both in office and at home on a weekly basis. The office is located at 1680 Garfield Avenue Alhambra, CA.
  • The total compensation target pay range for this role is between $110,000 - $130,000. This salary range represents our national target range for this role.
