Consultant/Senior Consultant - Corp Comms Generalist
APCO Worldwide is looking for a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join its dynamic and growing team in London.
The ideal candidate will have spent some years in agency and have experience leading accounts for corporate clients, whether with large companies or smaller start-up and scale-ups.
Media relations remains a key part of our work and the successful candidate will need a strong track record of working with the media. However, we are also looking for someone who has experience delivering integrated communications campaigns, with a good knowledge of how to take a project from idea to activation across paid, earned, shared and owned channels.
APCO’s biggest sectors are technology, climate & sustainability, healthcare/pharma/life sciences, energy and heavy industry (energy transition). Experience in these sectors would be a plus but not required – what we really want is a generalist who can turn their hand to a range of different challenges and provide sound counsel to clients in any industry sector.
Key responsibilities would include:
- Handling the day-to-day running of large accounts and campaigns
- Managing, training and mentoring junior team members
- Overseeing the running of busy press office functions
- Devising, developing and implementing integrated communications campaigns
- Creating/editing written content
- Overseeing the development of multimedia assets e.g. animations, videos
- Coming up with creative ideas for how to improve services to our clients
- Playing an active role in new business
The successful candidate will be/have:
- Experience in corporate communications, working in an agency environment
- Someone who thrives on the variety and diversity of agency life
- Experience of and an aptitude for managing junior team members
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven track record working with the media
- An active interest in digital/social media, including digital analytics
- A desire to embrace the latest communications channels and tactics
