Senior Director, Policy - Tech & Telecom Practice

We have an immediate opportunity for an experienced technology and telecom policy leader to join our team in Washington, D.C.  The ideal candidate will be a big thinker and excellent writer who combines expert knowledge on tech/telecom regulatory policy with strong political instincts and a campaign mindset. 


  • Manage issue advocacy campaigns for clients in the tech and telecom sectors, including companies, trade associations, and multi-stakeholder coalitions.
  • Produce top-quality written materials including policy explainers and white papers, op-eds, strategy memos, advocacy talking points, etc.
  • Use your expert policy knowledge and strong political instincts to develop strategic plans, campaign proposals, and other strategic advice for clients and prospective clients.
  • Identify and engage directly with reporters and third-party voices as needed to brief them on key developments, help educate them on policy issues, or to speak on the record as needed.
  • Assist in the identification and pitching of new business opportunities.


  • At least 15 years of experience working on telecom and tech policy issues in legislative, regulatory, legal, or advocacy settings.
  • Deep understanding of recent and current telecom and technology policy debates and broader political and policy trends.
  • Excellent writing skills, with an emphasis on explanatory and persuasive advocacy writing. Applicants will be asked to submit writing samples.
  • Senior staff experience in House/Senate offices or at relevant federal agencies is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field; a law degree or public policy graduate degree and experience practicing in the tech or telecom space is a significant advantage.
