Introduction

Our consumer division is looking for a qualified person to manage all aspects of the faith-based, curriculum catalog, for PreK-12, that is published, printed, and marketed by Alpha Omega Publications (AOP). In this role, the Manager of Curriculum Development for print products directs and participates alongside a team of writers, editors, and graphic designers in the creation of new curriculum products and the update and maintenance of existing publications.

All office-based employees or employees meeting face-to-face with other employees are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

A Day in the Life as a Manager of Curriculum Development, Print

Every day in the life of the Manager of Curriculum Development, Print can be different. You will manage all aspects of strengthening and improving the print-based curriculum on both a course-by-course basis and on a program-wide basis. This will involve monitoring reprint schedules and printer requirements to ensure that all titles are delivered for printing in a timely manner. Working alongside editors, writers, graphic artists, and designers you will help to produce and improve print-based products. This can involve the review of state and national standards to determine which of them will be the standards for new products or revisions. You will also work with senior management to prioritize the allocation of resources for curriculum development to ensure that identified priorities are accomplished, budgets are met, and production schedules are followed. Responses to customer questions and curriculum suggestions will be sent and product information will be passed on to sales and marketing for their use in advertising and customer training. You will coach, train, and direct the team in best practices for work processes and tool usage that will lead them to efficiently perform their daily tasks and routines.

Qualifications

-          Master’s degree in education, curriculum development, or related field and a minimum of 5 years of curriculum development and/or classroom experience; or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

-          Deep understanding of pedagogy and instructional design across multiple content areas.

-          Understanding of core curriculum content from pre-K through high school

-          Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.

-          Advanced skills using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and QuarkXpress.

-          Impeccable reading, writing, editing, and research skills.

-          Effective oral and written communication skills.

-          Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels.

-          Highly organized, able to prioritize, and work independently as well as in a team environment.

-          Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities.
