Senior Manager, Proposal Management
Description
Senior Manager, Proposal Management
Remote - United States
About the Role
The Senior Manager of Global Proposals will provide strategic leadership for proposal execution, response quality, and operational coordination across regions. This role ensures proposals are aligned with win strategy, customer priorities, and revenue goals, while driving improvements that increase efficiency, consistency, and impact across the business.
While the scope of the role is global, the majority of opportunity volume, ARR, and proposal demand originates in North America. As a result, the role works closely with US-based sales leadership and plays a critical part in supporting enterprise sales cycles and high-impact opportunities.
This role is intentionally designed as a player/coach position. The Senior Manager will lead the proposal function and step in directly on complex, high-priority opportunities when needed. The role requires both hands-on proposal experience and the ability to guide and develop a global team.
Responsibilities
- Process & Operational Leadership: Drive improvements to proposal workflows, tools, and engagement models to increase efficiency, scalability, and response speed. Help shape how the organization approaches proposal development at scale.
- Sales & Stakeholder Partnership: Act as a strategic partner to sales leadership, product teams, marketing, finance, and legal to shape positioning, messaging, and response direction. Support deal teams in prioritizing opportunities and aligning proposal effort to revenue impact.
- Proposal Strategy & Execution: Lead proposal strategy across complex opportunities, ensuring responses are aligned with win themes, customer needs, and revenue objectives. Oversee the full proposal lifecycle while setting clear standards for quality, messaging, and consistency across regions.
- Player/Coach Leadership: Serve as both functional leader and active contributor, stepping in to lead or support high-impact proposals, complex opportunities, or priority accounts. Model best practices for proposal development while mentoring team members and building capability across the function.
- Workload Prioritization & Deal Support: Ensure proposal resources are focused on the highest-value opportunities, balancing responsiveness with strategic impact and supporting enterprise sales cycles.
- Team Leadership: Mentor and develop proposal professionals while establishing clear expectations for quality, accountability, and performance. Foster a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Performance Measurement & Analytics: Use data and insights to evaluate proposal effectiveness, identify trends in win/loss outcomes, and improve response quality, efficiency, and impact over time.
- Content & Knowledge Management: Maintain and evolve a centralized response library to ensure consistency, speed, and alignment across regions, while reducing duplication and improving response quality.
- Compliance & Risk Awareness: Ensure proposals align with regulatory, contractual, and company standards in partnership with legal and compliance teams.
