The Accountant II position reports to the Manager, Accounting with primary responsibility of ensuring timely accurate closing of the corporate accounting records. The Accountant will play an integral role around general ledger recording within our Finance department.
Primary responsibilities will include:
Revenue Recognition & Accounting
- Preparing and recording monthly revenue journal entries in compliance with ASC 606 and company policies
- Ensuring proper recognition of product, service, and subscription revenues, including deferred revenue
- Reviewing customer contracts and assessing revenue impact based on accounting guidance
Financial Reporting & Analysis
- Assisting with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities related to revenue
- Reconciling revenue-related accounts (e.g., deferred revenue, accounts receivable, unbilled revenue)
- Preparing revenue-related schedules, flux analyses, and supporting documentation for financial statements
Audit & Compliance
- Supporting external and internal audit requests by providing revenue schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Maintaining compliance with SOX/internal controls related to revenue processes
- Ensuring adherence to GAAP and company accounting policies
Operational Support
- Partnering with Sales, Billing, and FP&A teams to resolve revenue-related issues
- Reviewing customer invoices and ensuring accuracy in billing systems
- Identifying and implementing process improvements to streamline revenue recognition and reporting
Other Duties
- Assisting in system enhancements related to revenue and billing
- Supporting special projects such as new product launches, system implementations, or revenue forecasting
- Providing ad-hoc analysis and reports to management as needed
The Candidate:
Required skills/qualifications:
- Must possess strong work ethic, communication and organizational skills
- Self-motivated, can multi-task, and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Comprehension of GAAP especially as it relates to ASC 606 and contract revenues
- Detail oriented with excellent analytic and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work with varying levels of employees
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in accounting; with 2-5 years’ work-related experience in a relevant position
- Strong computer skills: Proficient Excel skills and other Microsoft Office products
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to commute to in office location in India on an occasional basis
Preferred skills/qualifications:
- Experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and PowerBI
