The Staff Technical Project Manager (Staff TPM) will serve as a key member of Anthology’s Engineering Operations (EngOps) team and will have the opportunity to lead and contribute to critical strategic and operational initiatives intended to have broad and systemic impact within the Technology Organization (Tech Org) and across the company. EngOps is a team of technical project managers and knowledge managers working in a cross-functional capacity with a focus on driving alignment, helping find efficiencies, optimizing processes and workflows, and creating scalable and repeatable frameworks to empower teams and enable self-organization.

 

The Staff TPM will lead and participate in projects, programs, and initiatives associated with, but not limited to, the following:

  • Enabling and accelerating maturity in our use of AI tools within the Tech Org
  • Facilitating and improving product and technology planning, prioritization, and budgeting processes
  • Developing insights and data visualizations to improve visibility and enable strategic and data-informed decision making
  • Enhancing company-wide CapEx processes and reporting
  • Enabling process and tooling alignment and harmonization within the Tech Org
  • Streamlining and automating knowledge and content management in support of critical business processes
  • Bringing efficiencies to how we obtain and maintain security certifications (e.g., GovRAMP, FedRAMP, IL4, ISO, SOC, etc.)
  • Managing and evolving the Tech Org’s information architecture to enable bidirectional knowledge sharing and communication and enhance collaboration

 

This position is for someone with enthusiasm for tackling complex challenges, the ability to bridge strategic thinking with technical execution and excellence, a collaborative mindset, and experience working with colleagues at all levels of an organization. This individual will be empowered to identify problems and areas of opportunity and propose solutions and initiatives to help enhance the effectiveness and operations of the Tech Org and broader organization. This position requires someone comfortable managing through change and ambiguity, adapting to emerging guidance and direction, and offering recommendations to help shape Anthology’s project and knowledge management practices. 

 

The Staff TPM will report to and work under the guidance of the EngOps Director of Technical Project Management. This role may be expected to directly manage or matrix-manage staff.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Understanding complex problems, proposing solutions, and distilling them into actionable projects, programs, and initiatives 
  • Independently managing large, cross-functional projects, programs, and initiatives with large/diverse sets of stakeholders
  • Communicating effectively with team members and leadership within and outside of the Tech Org
  • Prioritizing and driving project, programs, and initiatives from inception to conclusion based upon business priorities
  • Providing insights into business and project processes through data analysis and visualization
  • Identifying process improvement and workflow optimization opportunities and create repeatable and scalable frameworks to implement them
  • Contributing to the management and evolution of our existing technical information request process and supporting knowledge management system in support of critical business processes
  • Managing and suggesting ways to improve and evolve our Tech Org information architecture
  • Helping EngOps leadership prioritize work and effectively manage capacity to manage expectations and successfully achieve outcomes
  • Identifying and mitigating issues and risks, escalating concerns to management and leadership, as appropriate
  • Advancing and achieving outcomes through leadership, collaboration, and a willingness to listen and learn

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • At least 8 years working in a project management-oriented role
  • Familiarity with software development, information technology, and information security, and enthusiasm for Agile practices
  • Excellent technical writing and communication skills
  • Experience managing projects, programs, and initiatives from inception to closure and through the entire life cycle
  • Experience working with content management or knowledge management systems
  • Experience using data to measure processes, provide insights, and develop visualizations
  • Ability to identify and solve problems and manage workload with minimal guidance
  • Capable of collaborating with cross-functional, globally distributed teams and stakeholders to establish and maintain reliable and productive working relationships
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including technical experts, business owners, and executive level staff
  • Adaptable to an evolving and changing environment, and comfortable managing through change and ambiguity
  • Desire to build relationships and influence others through integrity and trust
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Creating and managing SharePoint instances, sites, pages, lists, and workflows
  • Leveraging PowerApps to create and automate workflows
  • Creating visualizations and dashboards in PowerBI
  • Creating work items, configuring templates, querying and creating reports in Azure DevOps
