Role Overview
The Family Resource Connections Guide provides individualized support for newcomer families, helping
them navigate urgent and long-term needs through resource connections, referrals, and guidance. This
role combines direct case support with active outreach to connect and recruit families into services,
including holding walk-in hours both at Alight and at additional community locations to reach more
families.
Key Responsibilities:
Participant Identification & Recruitment
Proactively identify and recruit eligible families into Family Resource Connections
through partner referrals, walk-ins, and outreach at community sites (libraries, schools,
clinics, faith centers, community events).
Conduct intake/orientation to confirm eligibility, explain services, and enroll families
into the program. Coordinate warm handoffs from internal programs (e.g., Community Workshops,
employment and career support) and external partners.
Direct Family Support
Provide 1:1 walk-in and scheduled appointments for families seeking assistance.
Hold regular walk-in meeting times at Alight and at partner/community locations(e.g.,
libraries, schools, community centers) to improve accessibility.
Ensure families receive timely follow-up after appointments, with referrals tracked and
confirmed.
Outreach & Referral Connections
Develop and maintain partnerships with local agencies, schools, housing navigators,
community organizations, and other referral partners.
Proactively identify families in need through outreach at community events, and
referrals from partner agencies.
Refer families to other RNS service areas and other partners, as appropriate and
needed.
Documentation & Reporting
Track cases, referrals, enrollments, and outcomes in the shared case management MRIS
and any Internal customer database.
Meet internal and grant reporting requirements.
Ensure compliance with grant and organizational reporting standards.
Collaboration
Participate in regular internal and collaborative partner meetings.
Documentation & Reporting
Enter workshop attendance, outputs and outcomes into MRIS and any internal case
management tracker.
Ensure compliance with grant and organizational reporting standards.
Iteration and Refinement through Internal Co-Creation
Participate in and/or lead discussion and brainstorming sessions with the Alight U.S.
Enterprise team if and when you hit roadblocks to enrollment, available resources,
referrals, etc.
Illustrative Measurable Expectations
Manage a caseload of 20-30 active families per month.
Provide a minimum of 15 individualized appointments per week.
Enter case notes into MRIS within 48 hours of contact with a client.
Ensure walk-in availability at least 2 days per week at Alight and at least 1 day per week at a
rotating community location.
Ensure monthly contact with all active clients.
Enroll at least 20 new families per quarter through outreach and referrals.
Facilitate 20+ successful community referrals per quarter with documented follow-up.
Other
Other duties as needed, and any other activities that may be required in a rapidly changing
environment.

Qualifications

We’re also looking for the following qualifications and competencies:
Bilingual (English + Somali, Oromo, Amharic, Spanish, Swahili, or other languages represented by
individuals new to Minnesota through humanitarian protection programs) highly preferred.
You have 1-2 years of customer service or administrative experience and have the highest
standard for customer service, knowing how to offer this in a generous and joyful way.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficient computer skills.
Commitment to human-centered and culturally responsive approaches.
You work well with a lot of freedom and do your best work in a culture that does the doable
with whatever resources we have.
You are culturally agile and are invigorated by co-creating with multiple partners.

Salary Range:
$50,000 to $53,000K
