As a Repo Recovery Specialist, you play a key role behind the scenes, ensuring decisions are accurate, compliant, and aligned with both customer impact and business risk.
This role blends analysis, quality assurance, and operational decision-making. You will use sound judgment, strong attention to detail, and effective partnership with internal teams and external vendors to support repossession activity and identify opportunities for recovery. Through every interaction, you’ll be guided by our commitment to integrity, accountability, and partnership, helping ensure the Loss Mitigation process is executed correctly and consistently.
About Repo Recovery
The Repo Recovery team focuses on accounts that require independent decision-making, investigation, and control oversight. In this role, specialists work closely with repossession vendors, auctions, and internal partners to ensure repossession-related activity is accurate, compliant, and properly documented.
You’ll support these efforts by:
- Reviewing account activity and documentation to determine appropriate next steps
- Ensuring accuracy and consistency across manual and automated communications
- Partnering with internal teams and external vendors to resolve issues and maintain process controls
- Identifying risks, trends, and recovery opportunities and escalating findings when needed
This team plays a critical role in minimizing loss, ensuring compliance, and protecting the integrity of Loss Mitigation operations.
What You’ll Do
- Review and analyze accounts to determine repossession eligibility and recovery opportunities
- Perform quality assurance and internal control reviews to ensure accuracy of transactions, letters, and system codes
- Investigate issues, identify root causes, and document findings and resolutions
- Assign accounts for repossession or other outside action based on established parameters
- Manage repossession invoices, reinstatement extensions, and control reports
- Work directly with repossession vendors and auctions to support account resolution
- Maintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits, reviews, and leadership visibility
- Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned
What You Bring
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently
- High attention to detail and accuracy in a process-driven environment
- Comfort navigating multiple systems, screens, and tools simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High School diploma or GED required; 1+ year of collections experience preferred
- Proven ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
- Prior experience with repossession, recovery, or quality assurance is a plus
