Job Description
The Compliance Project Analyst provides tactical, analytical, and project-based support to the Compliance Department with a primary focus on regulatory licensing, examination management, and cross-functional compliance initiatives. This role supports compliance governance activities, change management, and project management efforts while coordinating closely with Legal, Risk, Technology, and operating departments under the supervision of a Compliance Manager.
Responsibilities
Regulatory Licensing & Examination Support
- Lead regulatory licensing applications and renewals, including gathering required documentation and tracking submission timelines.
- Track surety bond and other licensing requirements and maintain accurate records within the licensing database.
- Oversee coordination of compliance examinations conducted by regulatory agencies by collecting documentation, tracking requests, and maintaining status logs.
- Lead drafting and assembling required reports, documentation, and responses for review and timely submission.
- Maintain thorough records and documentation related to licensing and examination activities to support audit readiness.
- Assist with tracking licensing- and examination-related expenses and maintaining projections as directed.
- Independently evaluate business processes for associated risks to ensure proper controls are in place and prepare written findings and recommend strategies when deficiencies are identified.
- Proactively leverage appropriate resources to identify and assess licensing and examination risks, conducting analysis to ensure relevant information is properly collected, analyzed, and disseminated to stakeholders. Apply investigative judgment to evaluate non‑standard requests, anticipate downstream complexity, and implement actions to prevent missteps and compliance risk.
Compliance Governance Support
- Schedule, facilitate, and track periodic meetings, approvals, action items, and follow-ups for governance bodies.
- Maintain governance documentation, including meeting minutes and supporting materials.
Compliance Change Management
- Develop, revise, and maintain Compliance Department policies and procedures as assigned.
- Assist with facilitation of the Compliance Event process from creation through remediation (as applicable).
Compliance Project Management
- Support compliance-driven and enterprise initiatives by tracking milestones, documenting requirements, and coordinating deliverables.
- Liaise with operating departments to support timely completion of compliance initiatives.
Innovation, Technology & Emerging Risk Support
- Serve as a supporting Compliance stakeholder for emerging technologies, including AI and automation initiatives.
- Assist with monitoring compliance risks related to technology-enabled processes and document supporting controls and evidence.
- Stay informed on evolving regulatory expectations related to emerging technologies and escalate potential risks as needed.
Reporting and Communication
- Prepare summaries, reports, and presentations related to licensing, examinations, governance, and compliance initiatives for internal and external decision making. Support responses to regulatory inquiries, audits, and information requests by organizing and validating requested materials.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s degree with 1+ year(s) of applicable experience
- Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail
- Ability to approach problems systematically and logically to make informed decisions based on data
- Ability to comprehend policies, regulations, and laws
- Aptitude to draw conclusions and summarize both written and verbally
- Strong organization skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new systems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external parties
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Must be able to sit at a desk and work on a computer or on the phone as required, for extended periods of time.
