Overview:

The Data Scientist consultant role is an incredibly exciting position in the fastest growing segment of AMEND. You will be working to solve real-world problems by designing cutting-edge analytic solutions while surrounded by a team of world class talent. We are looking for predictive and prescriptive model builders who are the combination of a change agent, technical leader, and passionate about transforming companies for the better.

Job Tasks:

• Business understanding and insights generation.
• Command descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics tools including statistics, forecasting, data mining, simulation, optimization, machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and video analytics.
• Understand client operational and strategic business objectives by studying business functions across multiple industries, documenting project requirements and end user needs.
• Define and manage project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases, and deliverables.
• Act as the lead data scientist, identifying relevant datasets that can be sourced from internal and external systems. Design and deploy implementation strategies.
• Execute project plan, report progress, identify and resolve problems, and recommend further actions.
• Delegate tasks to appropriate resources as dictated by project requirements.
• Analyze large data sets as required by projects or business necessities, and present findings along with recommended solutions and next steps.
• Create, implement, and scale modeling techniques, inclusive of predictive and prescriptive models with the intent to aid clients in optimizing profit (price, cost, acquisition and retention), scheduling (labor, production), and forecasting.
• Generate and communicate insights derived from modeling.
• Develop interactive tools to allow clients to scenario plan based on modeling output.
• Articulate the What, Why, and So What of model development and output.
• Design, develop, and deliver audience training and adaption methods and materials.

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in analytical programming languages such as R or Python
• Experience with predictive and prescriptive analytics tools in the areas of statistics, forecasting, data mining, simulation, optimization, machine learning, artificial intelligence, deep learning, and video analytics
• Proficiency in data management and querying via SQL
• Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement
• Strong analytic skills related to working with structured and unstructured datasets
• Ability to interface with multiple other business functions (internally and externally)
• Desire to build analytical competencies in others within the business
• Curiosity to ask questions and challenge the status quo
• Creativity to devise out-of-the-box solutions
