WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for training to become a Histotechnician and may attain the goal of accumulating hours of working experience and becoming technically proficient. The objective will enable the Histology Trainee to apply and sit for the HT Board of Registry Exam given by the ASCP, and if the trainee meets the ASCP requirement, thereby advance him/her to the position of Histotechnician (HT). This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic healthcare systems while performing all job functions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

High school diploma or equivalent required.

In addition, one of the following requirements must be met: 

• Associate degree or at least 60 semester hours (90 quarter hours) of academic credit from a regionally accredited college/university with a combination 12 semester hours (18 quarter hours) of biology and chemistry.
