WHAT WILL YOU DO

This individual is responsible for directing, planning, controlling and managing clinical and administrative functions for a single-site scope where assigned. Responsibilities include personnel, budgeting, and relationships with medical staff and with other hospital departments, supporting hospital functions from the laboratory perspective and representing Alverno Laboratories within the hospital environment. He/she will have demonstrated leadership and effective communication skills as well as high levels of competence in clinical and management practices. This individual shall maintain a healing environment for employees and patients with a spirit of caring and concern as incorporated in the philosophy of our Catholic healthcare systems while performing all job functions.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Must meet CLIA requirements as defined in Section 493.1461 of Public Service Act CFR Part 493 CLIA 88 for technical supervisor.

Be a licensed physician or have an advanced degree (masters of doctoral) in chemical, physical, biological, clinical lab science or medical technology from an accredited institution, plus have at least 1 year of laboratory training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.

Be qualified as a Technologist, plus have at least 1 additional year of lab training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.

Be qualified as a Technician with an associate degree in lab science or medical lab technology from an accredited institution, plus have 2 additional years of lab training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing.

Be qualified as a Technician with a high school diploma and successful completion of a HHS approved or military clinical lab training program, plus have 2 additional years of lab training or experience, or both, in high complexity, testing either before or after completing the training program.

Be qualified as a Technician with high school diploma and serving as General supervisor for high complexity testing on or before 9/1/92. This individual must also have 10 years of lab training or experience, or both, in high complexity testing, including at least 6 years of supervisory experience between 9/1/82 and 9/1/92. Masters degree in Health or Business Administration preferred.

Eight (8) years relevant experience including at least three (3) years of supervisory/management experience of multiple laboratory sections required. Experience in managing a free standing clinical laboratory operation is preferred.
