The Senior Data Scientist will oversee all data science and data integration efforts for a team supporting the USAF Concepts Development Management Office program for Supply Chain analytics.
Description
As a Senior Data Scientist you will:
- Apply and utilize new or established qualitative and quantitative methods to analyze and resolve analytical issues.
- Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data as well as collaborate with respective government Points of Contact (POC) to perform exploratory and targeted data analyses, test working hypotheses; prepare, mine, and analyze structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data; and identify trends and patterns.
- Design and develop new, scalable tools, dashboards, and visualizations to enable users to consume and understand data more effectively and efficiently.
- Identify data needs and proper methods for data gathering, extraction, integration, preparation, quality, and governance from internal and external sources in context of meeting customer expectations.
- Develop statistical algorithms and models, automate data conditioning and data analysis, support machine learning, and generate visualizations for use in predictive and prescriptive modeling and proof of concept initiatives.
- Collaborate with other analytic professionals to continuously build a broader and deeper data science and analytic capability relevant to the customer’s mission areas.
Qualifications
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 years relevant management experience
- At least five years of experience in the data science field focusing on data transformation and integration
- Experience working with multi-lingual data sets
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Demonstrated presentation skills communicating complex analytics including, but not limited to, presenting at professional or academic conferences.
Highly desired qualifications
- Five years of experience developing and applying advanced algorithms, models, and frameworks that leverage the latest advances in technologies including but not limited to machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, natural language processing, Generative AI, large language models (LLM), pattern recognition, and data wrangling.
Security Clearance
Due to the nature of this work, an active DoD Top Secret clearance and eligibility for SCI is required
