Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic – Vermeer All Roads in Chesapeake, VA
If you are a skilled mechanic used to working independently and traveling to customer sites, we want to talk to you! Vermeer All Roads in Chesapeake, VA is searching for a Heavy Equipment Field Mechanic with previous experience to cover the eastern Virginia territory (Hampton Roads/Chesapeake). In this field-based role, you’ll travel to customer sites to diagnose, service, and repair Vermeer machinery and components. Use your mechanical abilities to make a difference each day with customer's equipment.
Compensation & Schedule $28-40/hr (based on experience) Full Time M-F

Responsibilities
- Service, repair, and recondition Vermeer equipment as directed by the Branch Service Manager
- Diagnose malfunctions in hydraulic and electrical systems
- Recommend appropriate repairs and prepare accurate estimates
- Perform welding/fabrication as required
- Apply current industry/technical advancements in daily work
- Maintain accurate, detailed records of all repairs performed
- Communicate with OEM/factory for technical assistance
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Hands-on hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting experience
- Welding experience
- Ability to travel daily within assigned territory for field service calls
- Excellent written/verbal communication and customer service skills
- Positive attitude: ability to multitask, prioritize, and work efficiently
- Valid driver’s license and insurable by our carrier (clean driving record)
