Risk Claims Specialist


Our specialist is the first point of contact for AMS locations/customers/third parties after the experience of a loss. Our service requires the most professional manner when they need us most. The position is for career focused individuals looking to start their career in Risk Management/Finance/Insurance. Our team has a very important role in our organization. 


  • Provides efficient customer service by promptly and courteously responding to all inbound inquiries regarding Property damage, bodily injury & Auto claims.
  • Investigates and reports on all claims involving the company; Company’s workers compensation, general liability, auto and property liability claims.
  • Directly handles low-value customer property damage & Inhouse claims.
  • Coordinates among the company, third-party administrators, brokers and/or attorneys.
  • Adheres to current procedures to ensure timely notification and proper reporting of claims and litigation against company to appropriate internal leaders, insurers and third-party administrators.
  • Understands applicable AMS insurance policies.
  • Reviews insurance billings against claims data to ensure detailed invoice
  • Set expectations with customers on when updates on their claim status will be provided. Provides contacts for temporary resources. 
  • Demonstrates understanding of policies and provides guidance and assistance to callers based on their needs; and may make limited recommendations as needed.
  • Processes caller transactions & claims accurately and within established best practice time standards.  Manages and utilizes time effectively to ensure the required service levels for call capture and service handle time as well as quality and customer satisfaction standards are met.
  • Efficiently utilizes on-line reference materials to provide accurate and timely information and counsel to customers.  Effectively operates systems and applications including computer desktop, Microsoft Outlook, call center specific phone systems and the internet.
  • Assist all location in completion of COI (certificate of Insurance)
  • Assist in gathering information and at times assist in completion for DOT reporting/recordables


  • A minimum of two (2) years prior risk management
  • Detail oriented; strong analytical and communication skills;
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Individual should have the ability to quickly establish trust and rapport with regional finance and
  • Demonstrated ability to make good decisions, solve problems and drive for results.
  • Self-motivated and a team player.
  • Efficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point
  • Ability to work independently and also as a member of a team.
  • Ability to review record and organize written data from a variety of sources.
  • Ability to handle confidential and proprietary information is critical. Proficiency with computers is mandatory.
  • Basic Understanding of General Liability, Property and other risk programs
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, demonstrate manual dexterity, climb stairs, talk, hear and see
  • Must be able to type a minimum of 55 WPM.
