Nurse Manager, Full Time

We are seeking candidates for our Nurse Manager position. Flexibility, professional appearance, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are crucial for this role. The office requires attention to details while maintaining a welcoming presence for both patients, their parents, and visitors.  This position would be best suited for an outgoing, positive energy person who appreciates cordial, professional employee relationships and close continuity of care with our families and children. 

 

Full Time Availability During Business Hours & On Call as Needed:

Monday – Thursday: 9:00am – 7:00pm

Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm

Saturday: 8:00am – 12:00pm

Sunday: 8:00am – 6:00pm

Position Responsibilities:

  • Works directly with the Office Manager to manage the daily operations of the office’s clinical staff.
  • Maintains clinical guidelines by writing and updating policies and procedures.
  • Maintains clinical operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures including executing downtime and emergency procedures in times of need. 
  • Supervises CLIA Lab Site
  • Maintains clinical staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training nurses and clinical staff.
  • Completes patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning clinical staff; following up on work results.
  • Maintains clinical staff job results by coaching, counseling employees; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
  • Prepares and publishes staff schedule monthly, takes call outs/lates and arranges coverage for absent staff.
  • Provides information to patients and health care team by answering questions and requests.
  • Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
  • Maintains all practice inventory including vaccines, medical supplies and office supplies.
  • Maintains all practice compliance with, but not limited to, VFC, CLIA, OSHA and HIPAA
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Supervises Lab Technicians and Medical Assistants

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NYS Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • 5 Years clinical experience in a medical practice
  • 2 years CLIA experience
  • Prior management/supervisory experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • EMR experience (GE Centricity) preferred 
  • Phlebotomy

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a PLUS

Physical Requirements:

  • Medical office that is both physically and emotionally challenging
  • Standing, walking, or stooping for long periods of time.
  • Mild physical labor to complete the tasks at hand.
  • Exposure to blood, chemicals, and other bodily fluids.
  • Possible heavy lifting (infants, toddlers, children)

Compensation & Benefits offered:

(You must work a minimum of 30 hours a week to be eligible for benefits)

 

Pay Rate: $70,000 – $75,000 ; Negotiable, Dependent Upon Experience
