Medical Assistants, Full Time

 

We are seeking candidates for experienced Medical Assistant positions. Flexibility, professional appearance, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are crucial for this role. The office requires attention to details while maintaining a welcoming presence for both patients, their parents, and visitors.

 

As the Medical Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing patients during office visits and assisting patients and family members before, during, and after a doctor’s visit. During your day, you will perform a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing personnel. Successful candidates for this role will deliver quality customer service and maintain established quality control standards. Someone with strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills is a good fit for this healthcare role.

 

Schedule:
Monday: 9 AM - 5 PM
Tuesday: 9 AM - 5 PM
Wednesday: 9 AM - 5 PM
Thursday: 9 AM - 5 PM
Friday: 9 AM - 5 PM

Position Responsibilities:

•              Performs technical laboratory functions including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, immunology, allergy testing, and other tests 

•              Performs echocardiography (EKG), phlebotomy, pulmonary function testing tasks on occasion

•              Reports test results following clinic protocols, alerting physicians and/or nurses immediately about “red flag” results

•              Ensures quality control in collecting specimens and in ensuring appropriate sampling and record keeping 

•              Oversees laboratory assistant on housekeeping duties and other tasks

•              Maintains equipment, instruments, and supplies as needed

•              Complies with all quality assurance policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations related to safety, cleanliness, and infection control

•              Performs other duties as assigned

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • High school diploma
  • Successful completion of medical technologist, medical laboratory technician, or certified laboratory assistant program
  • American Medical Technologist certification

Experience:

  • Minimum two years of laboratory management experience, preferably in clinic setting

Knowledge/Skills:

·         Medical laboratory principles, standards, applications, and tests

·         Use and maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments

·         Safety, infection control, and quality assurance policies and regulations

·         Medical terminology

·         Applying appropriate testing procedures

·         Proper use, preventive maintenance, and repair

·         Appropriate quality control and confidentiality procedures

·         Exercise independent judgment, problem solve, make decisions, and use discretion in reporting/distributing results

·         Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patients, families, and staff

·         Organize workload effectively and work quickly with high level of accuracy using manual/finger dexterity and eye–hand coordination

·         Competently use Microsoft Office 

 

Physical Requirements:

 

·         Medical office that is both physically and emotionally demanding

·         Standing or stooping for long periods of time.

·         Mild physical labor to complete the tasks at hand.

·         Exposure to blood, chemicals, and other bodily fluids.

·         Possible heavy lifting (infants, toddlers, children)

·         Other physical demands that coincide with the duties of a laboratory professional.

 

 

 

Compensation & Benefits offered:
