Medical Receptionist, Full Time

 

Our Expanding Multi-Practice Medical Group is opening a brand new 5,500 square-foot pediatric office in Rocky Point. Located at 346 Route 25 A, the practice will be our 24th office on Long Island and our 34th in the New York Metropolitan area.

 

This new office will feature new health-safety enhancements to protect employees and patients from the spread of COVID-19 and other illnesses. Design elements include separated sick and well areas and a state-of-the-art HVAC system with UV lighting to improve air quality.

 

We are seeking candidates for two Medical Receptionist positions. The Medical Receptionist role is everyone’s first point of contact for the office. Flexibility, professional appearance, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are crucial for this role. The office requires attention to details while maintaining a welcoming presence for both patients, their parents, and visitors.

 

Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm with alternating Saturdays*, 9am-2pm.

If working Saturday will have a day off during the week

Position Responsibilities:

 

         Greeting patients and visitors

         Answering telephones in a courteous and professional manner.

         Scheduling appointments for patients

         Collecting copays or balance due

         Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, computer knowledge

         Must be personable, organized, and reliable

         Must like children and have a pleasant demeanor with children

         Multilingual (Spanish primarily) speaking a PLUS

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year in a medical office, pediatric experience a PLUS
  • Prior experience and/or knowledge of EMR. Experience with GE Centricity preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual in English/Spanish Preferred.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

  • Medical office that is both physically and emotionally demanding
  • Standing or stooping for long periods of time.
  • Mild physical labor to complete the tasks at hand.
  • Exposure to blood, chemicals, and other bodily fluids.
  • Possible heavy lifting (infants, toddlers, children)
  • Other physical demands that coincide with the duties of a laboratory professional.
