Growth Engineer
Role Summary
AliveCor is hiring a Growth Engineer to own the measurement layer and the front end it measures, sitting between marketing and engineering. About 60% of the role covers the Google ecosystem — GA4, Google Tag Manager, technical SEO, Merchant Center feeds and conversion tracking. The other 40% is shipping changes on our Next.js websites and ecommerce, including code-level tracking.
You will make sure every market's data is accurate, every page is fast and indexable, and every CRO experiment ships without waiting on a dev queue. The ideal candidate is fluent across analytics and front-end code and uses AI tools daily to move faster while keeping output reviewed and compliant.
Core Responsibilities
Analytics & Tracking (core)
• Own end-to-end GA4 implementation: data layer design, event schema, custom dimensions, ecommerce tracking, and cross-domain and multi-property setups across geos
• Build and govern GTM containers (web and server-side), including tag hygiene, versioning, QA and Consent Mode v2
• Set up and validate conversion tracking, value-based bidding, offline conversion imports and server-side / Meta CAPI signals
• Design reporting pipelines (GA4 → BigQuery → Looker Studio) covering blended ROAS, CAC and channel contribution by market
• Maintain UTM and campaign taxonomy across all channels and markets
SEO (core)
• Own technical SEO on a Next.js stack: rendering strategy (SSR / SSG / ISR), crawlability, indexation, sitemaps, robots, canonicals and hreflang across markets
• Implement and maintain structured data — Product, FAQ, Article, Organization and Review
• Drive Core Web Vitals (LCP, INP, CLS) through image optimisation, bundle size, font loading and third-party script cost
• Run keyword research and content gap analysis; brief and optimise landing pages and content
• Manage Search Console across properties — coverage, enhancements, manual actions and query performance
• Fix internal linking, redirects and site architecture as the site evolves
Paid Search & Feeds
• Manage Google Merchant Center — product feeds, multi-country and multi-currency configs, feed rules, disapprovals and Shopping reporting
Web Development
• Build and modify Next.js / React pages and components — landing pages, PDPs, campaign pages and A/B variants
• Write clean JavaScript / TypeScript, Tailwind or equivalent CSS, and responsive layouts
• Implement tracking at the source: data layer pushes, event wiring and server-side endpoints where needed
• Work with Git — branches, pull requests, reviews and staging deploys (Vercel or similar)
• Consume APIs and headless CMS content; handle basic Node / API-route work
• Ship CRO experiments yourself instead of waiting on a dev queue
AI-Enhanced Responsibilities
Impact figures are starting estimates; validate them against the Step 3 checklist before publishing.
Required Qualifications
• 3 to 6 years in an engineering role supporting digital analytics, SEO and paid media channels in Ecommerce, DTC or B2B
• Deep hands-on GA4 experience — implementation and debugging, not just reporting
• Strong GTM skills: custom JS variables, triggers and server-side containers
• Demonstrable technical SEO ownership on a real site, ideally built on a JavaScript framework
• Merchant Center feed management across more than one country
• Working proficiency in JavaScript and React / Next.js — able to pick up a ticket, build the component and open a PR
• Solid HTML, CSS selectors, JSON, regex and Git
• SQL for GA4 exports in BigQuery; dashboards in Looker Studio
• CRO tooling experience: Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, Optimizely or VWO
• Comfortable owning budget, ROAS and CAC targets in front of non-analysts
• Fluent with AI coding tools as part of your normal workflow
Preferred Qualifications
• Hands-on Google Ads: Search, Shopping and Performance Max — building and scaling live spend
• TypeScript, Tailwind and Vercel deployment experience
• Headless commerce or Shopify Hydrogen
• Python for reporting and bid automation
• Google Ads Editor and scripts for bulk changes
• Bing / Microsoft Ads, Meta or Amazon Ads
• Segment or another CDP; Klaviyo or Braze
