Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Systems Implementation  the Implementation Specialist will play an important role in the implementation of a single Field Service Management (FSM) system.  The FSM is a mission critical system at GDI that allows us to schedule and dispatch service and preventative maintenance work to our technicians and to manage the life cycle of a work order from the initial customer request to the invoicing of the work order.

The Implementation Specialist will be working with our internal customers to develop an in depth understanding of their current business, processes, and systems.  With this understanding, the Implementation Specialist will work with various departments to perform system setup and data migration.  He/she will also deliver training sessions and provide end user support to ensure a successful transition.


  • Coordinate and execute implementation activities including requirements gathering, planning of implementation, performing gap analysis, and working with business unit leaders to prepare for implementation
  • Perform system and data setup in preparation of system go live
  • Review legacy system data and migrate data to FSM
  • Work within the framework of an Agile delivery methodology, including leveraging software development life cycle tools, such as Azure DevOps
  • Assist in developing test scripts and performing validation of system configuration/customization
  • Assist with issue triage, phone/ticket/onsite support and track incidents to resolution
  • Deliver training sessions and provide post-training support to end users
  • Track progress and report on the implementation status
  • Collect and document feedback from users and feed information back to the development team
  • Assist in the software development lifecycle to validate system changes meet business requirements
  • Identify opportunities for process optimization
  • Create reports (SSRS or other) and dashboards
  • Adhere to established change management processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management
  • Up to 10% travel required within North America



  • College diploma or university degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or related field
  • Minimum 3 to 4 years of implementation experience (requirements gathering, system setup, data migration, support)
  • Experience in MS Excel, SQL, and Office applications a must
  • Strong customer focus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience with Field Service Management systems (FSM – IFS, Astea, Dynamics 365, etc.) or Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) an asset
  • English-French bilingual an asset
