Job Summary

Technical Solutions & Applications Specialist serves our clients and entire organization as a leader for technical support and custom solutions. This role is seen as a leadership role in our BAS organizations it is expected this role will support the growth of our business and the it’s team members.  


  • Demonstrates leadership in Health & Safety practices, schedules and reports attendance on weekly H&S talks, uses eCompliance to audit technician submissions and reports to the Manager/HSE.
  • Responsible for maintaining Ainsworth standard practices in the delivery of BAS projects.
  • Liaises with Project Managers in order to improve our company practices.
  • Having a customer facing role, always represents the company in a dignified manner, and has the customer’s needs in mind.
  • Is responsible to deliver any and all assigned on time, on budget, and with quality.
  • Shall look for opportunities to increase profitability within the service and project by identifying extras or cost savings.
  • Informs manager weekly of work in progress, team needs, risks, and challenges,
  • Works within the team in order to deliver monthly forecasts.
  • Shall supervise and ensure that both internal and subcontracted resources assigned to the team delivers the TBQ (on Time on Budget and with Quality).
  • Shall with manger in providing the team priorities, scheduling needs and clarification of scope.
  • Ability to work independently and document all work performed, in both project and service related activities.
  • Assumes the lead technician and site supervisory role for multiple projects, and demonstrates the ability to work with, and at the direction of, the Manager BAS.
  • Confirms and audits all BAS technician commissioning activities and documentation for the region.
  • Assumes responsibility in delivering project tasks as defined by the Manager BAS, and becomes responsible for project deficiencies.
  • Assumes responsibility for labour budget.
  • Takes lead role in schedule project activities as required, and has a functional role in managing internal Ainsworth Inc resources, such as in house BAS technicians, project electricians and pneumatics technicians.
  • Is expected to report or identify any extras required to complete projects to the Manager BAS.
  • Takes a senior role in the development and mentoring of BAS field technicians.
  • Assists with sales estimations and project extra costing exercises.
  • Is responsible for customer training agendas and deployment
  • Provide input team appraisals and evaluations.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations.
  • Adhere to the Company’s Quality System operating procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management.



  • Valid driver’s licence and the ability to be insured by Ainsworth Canada.  Pass security screening as required by Ainsworth Canada’s clients.
  • Fluent in English – both written and oral.  The ability to read and understand construction plans and specs and product documentation.
  • Fluent in Microsoft Office, including Visio, Microsoft Project.
  • Technically competent in the Schneider Electric BAS product line, building automation products.
  • Post-secondary education or technical equivalent experience.
