Database Developer - Oracle PLSQL/APEX

OPEXUS has an exciting and challenging position for a Database Developer on a large IT project that supports more than 80 COTS, customized software and services at a Federal Government client in the Washington DC area (fully remote option).  The successful candidate will join a team of over 70 personnel on a program supporting the operations and maintenance of software applications, databases and system tools.

Duties, Roles and Responsibilities

  • Design, Code, test, and document PL/SQL and Java scripts for various database reporting and data handling.
  • Develop and maintain Oracle Application Express (APEX) Applications
  • Write scripts and instructions to automate for database tasks, assess and verify data quality.
  • Perform development using tools such as Oracle SQL Developer, Oracle SQLPlus and Oracle APEX.
  • Write back-end code for reporting tools such as Tableau, webMethods and COTs applications.
  • Develop and maintain detailed system documentation, system requirements, system design documents, user documentation, metadata, help files, and other technical documentation
  • Evaluate options for improvements, through product/feature evaluations, testing or proof of concept projects 

Required Skills and Experience

  • Overall professional IT experience of 6 years.
  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience as PL/SQL Developer supporting production environment.
  • Extensive experience with PL/SQL programming required.
  • Experience with Oracle and other databases required.
  • Experience with Oracle APEX required.
  • Experience with Java/XML/JSON/HTML preferred.
  • Experience with Git/GitHub preferred.
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure cloud environment preferred.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal/team skills.
  • Good verbal & written communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize workload with minimum supervision.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited university (Computer Science or Math preferred).

  • Could be subject to investigation
