Job/Role Description
OPEXUS is seeking a self-motivated, test engineer with a strong desire and aptitude to learn and expand their testing and analytical skills and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplined team of IT professionals on a large application development contract with the Federal Government. The ideal candidate has a minimum 8 years of IT experience and holds an active secret clearance.
Work location is in Washington, DC (hybrid work location) - Unlimited PTO
Candidates should be hands-on in all aspects of the software development lifecycle. Candidates must have the ability and interest to work on a range of different types of projects and business processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support the automation, performance and load testing environment
- Participate in the creation, implementation and continual improvement of standards, processes and procedures
- Develop Silk Performer and SilkTest scripts and scenarios
- Execute load/performance test scripts
- Analyze performance and automation testing findings
- Effectively leverage SW application processes, workflow, data rules, and business rules to develop and conduct functional and system integration testing
- Leverage Requirements MGT and Testing tools for example, JIRA, Service Now, Azure DevOps, to develop Test Plans and Test Scripts and to document test results and other SDLC artifacts
- Review and determine if test results (pass/fail) fulfill established requirements
- Coordinate with developers and communicate inconsistencies and/or failed tests
- Record and validate defects
- Work collaboratively with other test engineers and project management to identify process improvements and streamline operations
- Prepare and present testing documentation such as Test Plans, Test Summary Reports, and Requirements Traceability Matrices
Required Skills:
- 8+ years of software testing experience
- Knowledge and understanding of automated testing and performance testing methods and tools
- Understanding of Agile SW development processes, tools, and methodologies
- Knowledge and work experience with the following test tools such as: SilkPerformer, SilkTest, UFT
- Ability to work closely with and support development teams
- Excellent communication skills and experience with customer support
- Excellent analytical and assessment skills
- Troubleshooting/Problem solving skills with web applications
- Understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Self-motivated and ability to work well in a team.
Degrees and Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT-related field (preferred)
Security Clearance:
Active or Interim Secret clearance required
