Account Executive: State & Local Government

The OPEXUS State & Local Sales team aspires to provide State & Local government institutions and their communities with exceptional technology experiences. The Account Executive generates subscription sales for our SaaS platform and related services in an assigned territory.  

You Will:  

  • Be a consultative seller and listener to your customers and prospects 
  • Prepare comprehensive account and territory plans 
  • Identify, prioritize, and convert opportunities into sales 
  • Masterfully lead client presentations and run effective meetings 
  • Clearly articulating the value proposition of solutions and products and the endless possibilities of the digital enterprise to your customers 
  • Collaboration across all internal teams and resources to ensure you bring the best solution to your clients 
  • Work with the Marketing Team to ensure strong lead flow 
  • When appropriate, work with partners to manage joint selling opportunities 
  • Educate and guide prospects through the buying process 
  • Manage all aspects of sales in your territory including prospecting, activity tracking, opportunity management, forecasting revenue, contract management, and closing deals 
  • Pursue leads generated by yourself 
  • Write and present quarterly business reviews to Sales Management, Senior Management, and peers 
  • Adhere to the MEDDIC sales process and methodology  
  • Travel about 30%

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and oral 
  • Have a bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience 3-5 years of SaaS experience selling to and/or directly supporting public sector agencies, 
  • Knowledge of publicly available information and social media utilization efforts of public sector organizations, including but not limited to Federal, State, Local, Special Districts 
  • Passionate about supporting the public sector mission 
  • Must be willing and able to travel domestically as needed (approx. 30%)
