Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario (“the AGO”) is one of the largest art museums in North America, with a collection of close to 100,000 works. Through the collection as well as collaborations with leading museums around the world, the AGO presents wide-ranging exhibitions and programs to approximately 1 million visitors annually.

We are currently seeking a Temporary Full-Time Manager, Financial Services to join our Finance team. Under the direction of Director, Financial Services, Finance, the incumbent will manage all aspects of the AGO Foundation, American Friends of the Art Gallery of Ontario Inc. and the AGO’s financial functions ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial information produced and compliance with legislation for not-for-profit organizations.

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • A professional accounting designation (CPA) in good standing
  • A minimum of three to five years of financial accounting experience in the not-for-profit finance field with 2 to 3 years managerial or supervisory experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP and taxation issues
  • Demonstrated strength with financial systems, specifically with optimization and integration
  • Well-developed analytical, interpersonal, communications and organizational skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Access, and other relevant computer programs.
  • Experience in unionized environment would be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated project and time management skills with experience in systems implementation would be considered an asset.
  • Passion for visual art, with a working understanding of museum structure and departmental roles an asset.
