During all phases of a services project, acts as the primary internal/external customer interface.    

Provides in-house support for users of IBM products, IBM hardware and other applications as required. Performs in-house technical projects as required. 

Provides remote technical support for customers as needed in response to customer calls to the Software SupportLine, and as requested by the Agilysys sales staff. 

May provide services (installation, configuration and support) in conjunction with software developed.   

As required, develops and tests technical procedures and produces project documentation. 

Skill of the IBM iSeries hardware/software platform, but may also be asked to render technical services in other areas (e.g. High Availability software implementation, networking, PC’s, storage solutions, etc) 

Emailing from the iSeries over Exchange and O365 

Deep understanding of IBM performance tools, right sizing LPAR, along with ASAP and Storage (DASD and NAS) and VTL. 

Proficient in iSeries Administration, performance tuning and command line execution. 

Train and mentor team members on technical product knowledge, organization's policies, and product support and resolution techniques.

Responsible for hiring, performance appraisals, and pay reviews.

Manages the activities of Supervisors/Managers

College Degree or 10 + years of experience. 

Specific experience release updates and IBM hardware and Software maintenance, iSeries System Operations and Administration, iSeries Networking and Communications, and iSeries performance analysis.

Expert in IBM iSeries backup and recovery techniques.  

Expert in IBM software installation and maintenance. 

Expert in iSeries problem isolation and resolution.  

Proficiency in system migrations and conversions. 

Intermediate knowledge of IBM iSeries and iSeries hardware features, capabilities and architecture.  

Intermediate-level knowledge of IBM technical resources, and ability to research technical issues.   


Desired qualifications

Proficiency in IBM LPAR design and implementation. 

Familiar with Site-to-Site VPN, Network Firewall Policy and Routing/Switching

Proficient in the deployment of IBM High Availability, MIMIX, Power-HA and iTerra. 

Ability to develop and deliver effective technical presentations to clients and colleagues. Ability to teach, train and produce high quality documentation

Formulate technical procedures and develop new technical services offerings – from concept to packaging and delivery methodology.    

Broad knowledge of the field with proven leadership skills.
