Your Role

We are looking for a Quality, Food Safety & Environment Manager for the Quality team, who will report to the QFSER Director in our Headquarters and will be based at La-Chapelle plant. In this role, you will be responsible for providing leadership for the site in implementing quality and environmental systems that consistently meet the company's objectives. Lead the QFSE (Quality, Training, Safety, Environment) department by optimising its contribution and influencing the development and implementation of the factory's strategic plan and vision. Ensure that the company's QFSE objectives and legislative requirements are met.

What you will do

  • Contribute to the development of the factory's vision and strategic plan and implement actions to achieve them, leading and developing the quality and environmental teams to maximise their potential and contribution.
  • Ensure compliance with all company and legal regulations governing the environment, quality and food safety.
  • Improve quality performance by focusing on improvement initiatives and ensure consistent quality standards by applying approved manufacturing and quality procedures.
  • Support and advise operational teams in the management of quality, HACCP and environmental systems to achieve the quality and environmental standards required by the company and meet legislative requirements.
  • Develop a culture of continuous improvement to drive progress in the areas of quality and the environment.
  • Ensure the maintenance and development of management systems for each area and maintain accreditation.
  • Establish effective partnerships with suppliers, regulatory bodies and government agencies leading to continuous improvement in their service.
  • Ensure the development and implementation of on-site quality and environmental training, ensuring that mandatory training is provided.
  • Plan and control the quality and environmental budget to achieve the most cost-effective results leading to a continuous competitive advantage.
  • Steer the site's waste, water and emissions management strategy.
  • Promote and encourage collaboration between other managers and functions to improve performance through internal and external benchmarking.

 

What we are looking for

  • More than 5 years' experience in managing a Quality & Environment department, preferably in the agri-food or animal feed sector.
  • Higher vocational training in food technology, chemistry or a field related to health sciences.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of legislative requirements in the field.
  • Experience with all office software.
  • Experience with SAP is desirable.
  • Advanced knowledge of English.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, FSSC 22000 and ISO 14001 standards.

  • Problem solving and decision making are part of the candidate's attitude.
  • Tendency to think in terms of possibilities and awareness of risks.
  • Leadership is a natural skill for the candidate; they are considered a true motivator and team player.
  • Sense of responsibility and initiative, proposing continuous improvements and ability to resolve conflicts if they arise.
