Your Role

We are looking for a FP&A Direct Materials to join our Operations Finance team. This role is a key business partner to Direct Procurement, responsible for monitoring and forecasting direct material costs, ensuring robust price and consumption assumptions and translating procurement and formulation initiatives into tangible P&L impact.

The role reports directly to the FP&A Operations Director and plays a critical role in strengthening cost governance across all plants, improving data accuracy in SAP and supporting the transformation of Operations through solid cost, efficiency and variance analysis.

The ideal candidate combines strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of ingredients, packaging, consumption-based costing and data modelling, acting as a bridge between Procurement, Industrial teams, R&D and Finance.

What you will do

Procurement Performance, Ingredient Cost Control & Forecasting

        Monitor ingredient consumption prices across all plants, ensuring alignment between Budget, Last Estimate and Forecast.

        Analyze deviations between forecasted and actual ingredient prices, identifying root causes and quantifying P&L impact.

        Ensure that price forecasts for indexed commodities (e.g. cereals) are consistent with market indices and futures curves.

        Track and explain direct material cost evolution by ingredient, category and plant.

Formula, Efficiency & P&L Impact Analysis

        Leverage existing costing and data models to assess P&L impact by Ingredient, Formula & Product family

        Track and validate procurement and formula efficiencies, ensuring correctness of calculations and real P&L cash-in.

        Analyze the financial impact of formula changes, ingredient substitutions and product improvement initiatives.

Inventory & Consumption Monitoring

        Monitor inventory levels (volume and value) of Ingredients, Packaging and Purchased finished products

        Analyze inventory movements, consumption variances and their impact on COGS.

Business Partnering

        Act as a strategic finance partner to Direct Procurement teams, supporting category managers and buyers in cost-related decision-making.

        Act as a partner with the Bolt project team at Agrolimen level, following efficiencies and aligning on targets and results achievement.

        Translate procurement performance into clear financial insights and influence actions to improve margin.

        Improve financial awareness and accountability within Procurement teams.

Financial Closing, Budgeting & Planning

        Monitor and support the closing process of direct procurement purchase orders by company.

        Participate in the monthly closing process related to direct materials and procurement performance.

        Support the annual budget, rolling forecasts and long-term planning for direct materials.

        Participate in the budgeting and forecasting process in Hyperion

        Ensure consistency between procurement forecasts, operational plans and financial reporting.

Data Modelling & Analytics

        Own and further develop the ingredients and packaging budgeting models, ensuring consistency between consumption assumptions, price forecasts and financial outputs.

        Use data models to simulate cost scenarios and assess P&L impact of changes in prices, formulas and volumes.

        Collaborate closely with the Global Data & BI team to improve data models, automation and reporting related to direct materials.

        Contribute to the evolution of the data architecture supporting procurement and cost forecasting, currently based on SAP Datasphere.

 

What we are looking for

        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering or a related field.

        Minimum 5 years of experience in FP&A, Operations Finance, Procurement Finance.

        Solid understanding of direct materials cost structures, especially ingredients and packaging.

        Strong knowledge of ERP systems (SAP).

        Experience or strong interest in data modelling and analytics, with exposure to tools such as Power BI, SQL or similar.

        Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills.

        Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).

        Ability to work with data models and analytical tools to support forecasting and scenario analysis.

        Curiosity and learning mindset towards new data platforms and tools.

        Ability to work cross-functionally and influence without formal authority.
