Your role

We are looking for a Technical Manager within our Manufacturing team in Castelgomberto, who will report to the Plant Manager and be part of the plant One team, working closely with production, quality, maintenance, and engineering teams. This is a leadership role, in which you will be responsible for overseeing the Engineering and Maintenance departments within the manufacturing facility. This position ensures the factory's technical operations, including equipment, machinery, and infrastructure, are reliable, efficient, and aligned with production goals, safety standards, and quality requirements. The Technical Manager will lead a team of engineers and maintenance staff, driving a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence.

What you will do

  • Maintenance & Reliability Management: Oversee all maintenance activities to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of all factory equipment and assets. Develop and implement a robust preventative maintenance program to minimize unplanned downtime and extend asset lifespan.
  • Engineering & Project Management: Lead engineering projects from conception to completion, including new equipment installations, facility upgrades, process improvements and energy consumption optimization. Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources to ensure successful execution and a strong return on investment.
  • Technical Support & Problem-Solving: Act as the primary technical expert for the factory, providing guidance on troubleshooting complex issues related to production processes and equipment failures. Lead root cause analysis efforts to implement lasting solutions and prevent recurrence.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all engineering and maintenance activities comply with internal safety protocols and external regulations. Work closely with the Quality and Safety departments to integrate safety standards into all technical procedures.
  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual budget and forecasts for the Engineering and Maintenance departments, including capital expenditures and operational costs. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising safety or efficiency.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Manage and mentor the engineering and maintenance teams, promoting a high-performance culture focused on safety, efficiency, and problem-solving. Facilitate training and skill development to ensure the team is equipped to handle complex technical challenges.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Play a key role within the Castelgomberto One Team members and rest of departments, including Production, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain, to support overall factory objectives and drive seamless operational performance.

 

What we are looking for

  • Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or similar).
  • Proven experience in a technical management role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong background in engineering, maintenance, and project management.
  • Experience in the food or pet food industry is a strong plus.
  • Solid knowledge of preventive maintenance and continuous improvement tools (Lean, Six Sigma, 5 Whys, FMEA).
  • Hands-on problem solver with a focus on safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to engage teams and stakeholders.
  • Analytical, proactive, and adaptable in a fast-paced industrial setting.
