Your Role

We are looking for a Production Methods Engineer, who will report to the Methods Engineer Manager  at the La-Chapelle plant. In this role, you will be responsible for implementation of the improvements in production necessary to increase production performance, both in terms of machinery (reject rate, OEE, productivity) and personnel (skills, training, ergonomics).

 

What you will do

In compliance with deadlines and GMP, Quality, Health, Safety, Environment, Affinity Petcare
procedures and policies, and in line with technological and regulatory developments in the
industry, the Production Methods and Continuous Improvement Engineer works in the
following areas:

Improvement of the production processes and methods:

        Contribute to improving production activities and methods: analyzes malfunctions and
implements a continuous improvement process, leads projects to improve reliability/increase production or reduce losses, designs/monitors activity and quality indicators, and seeks technical solutions to optimize production costs and product reliability.

        Be involved in all manufacturing activities or specific technical issues: system computerization, machine compliance, verification and compliance of organizational and production methods with regulations, tool upgrades or deployment of new equipment and facilities, quality control of operating data, working conditions, and workplace ergonomics, etc.

        Help to update the technical documentation database and, at the same time, carries out important documentation monitoring work.

        Lead 5S and SMED projects in Production

        Lead construction sites and working groups

        Implement and monitor the action plan

        Measure improvements achieved: OEE, ergonomics

 


Improvement of the  workstations in the production area:

        Audit the processes taking place within a project and the organization associated with them, in order to propose measures to improve their functioning.

        Integrate human factors in order to act on the four target objectives: quality, costs, deadlines, and peace of mind (satisfaction of stakeholders).

        Conduct flow studies and VSMs

        Conduct HOSHIN projects

 

Analysis of  the functioning of a production process:

        Identifies key projects and sets priorities with their manager.

        Analyzes performance indicators, data, and business issues.

        Audits the performance of existing production resources.

        Identifies operating modes and circuits, as well as completion times.

 

Leadership of continuous improvement projects in production:

        Organizes meetings, workshops, brainstorming sessions, etc.

        Leads projects: reorganization and improvement of productivity/production/ergonomics (indicators, 5S projects, flow management, etc.).

        Identifies areas for improvement

        Identifies areas for improvement and develops action plans associated with production resources.

        Determines and implements performance indicators.

        Participates in the qualification and development phases of processes and tools.

        Communicates with stakeholders, particularly project managers and production managers.

 

Support of the implementation of improvements :

        Implements new techniques or new working methods.

        Plans project-related actions.

        Leads cross-functional working groups.

        Contributes to the training of technical and production teams.

        Trains and supports all operational staff affected.

 

Provide organizational and operational support to operational teams:

        Participates in daily, weekly, and monthly meetings, and leads some of them.

        Implements management tools and monitors them.

        Participates in regular site visits and inspections, takes observations and related actions into account

        Monitors established action plans and carries out certain actions

Education

        University Degree: Business Administration, Engineering

        Fluency in English (written and spoken)

Critical work experience

        Ideally with more than 1,5 years experience in a related or equivalent position, preferably, experience in FMCG, food industry, in highly automated environments
