Your Role

As an Animal Behaviorist at the Nutrition Center, you will join Affinity’s Research and Development team in the Behaviour & Training team to work on cat socialization and training to guarantee their suitability for their life and future adoption at Affinity Nutrition Center based in Masquefa.

What you will do

• Carry out behavior assessments to identify each cat's specific individual behavioral needs.
• Conduct cats’ life skills training sessions, such as confidence around people and novelty, basic handling, cat carrier, grooming, weighing and body condition scoring, and individual feeders training.
• Conduct cat training sessions for procedural skills such as blood sampling and urine collection training, ensuring accurate sample collection, feline-friendly handling, and minimal animal stress.
• Facilitate successful introductions of new cats ensuring a smooth and stress-free transition.
• Conduct behavior observations in different situations and environments to understand their requirements, stress levels, and potential behavior challenges.
• Design behavior modification plans tailored to each animal's individual needs to address undesired behaviors.
• Provide ongoing guidance and support to cat caregivers to ensure consistency in the implementation of maintenance training and behavior modification strategies.
• Assess the environment and living conditions of animals to identify enrichment opportunities that promote their physical and emotional well-being, implementing environmental enrichment strategies, such as providing interactive toys, climbing towers, elevated resting areas, and safe play spaces. 

What we are looking for

• Degree in Ethology or other animal behavior training.
• +1 year of experience dealing with cats or dogs.
• Be a pet lover.
• Be proactive and eager to learn.
• Systematic, methodical, and structured thinking
• High capacity for data analysis. Advanced level of Microsoft Excel.
