Category Buyer - Vegetal Origin

Your Role
We are looking for a Category Buyer for the Vegetal Origin team, who will report to the Vegetal Origin Category Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for executing category strategies to ensure compliant, efficient and value-driven procurement activities.
What you will do
Strategy & Planning
- Support category strategy development through data analysis, supplier performance insights, and market intelligence
- Contribute to budget planning and tracking
- Lead supplier homologation, segmentation, and performance monitoring (KPIs, risk assessments)
- Ensure strategies align with business priorities such as innovation, sustainability, and resilience
Operational Sourcing & Execution
- Manage end-to-end sourcing processes (RFI/RFQ/RFP), supplier negotiations, and contract implementation
- Negotiate pricing, service levels, and contractual terms, including ESG requirements
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, contract usage, and spend categorization
- Monitor supplier performance and collaborate with internal teams to ensure service levels and material availability
Value Delivery & Cost Management
- Drive cost savings and value creation initiatives aligned with procurement targets
- Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) assessments
- Contribute to financial performance (P&L impact, working capital)
Supplier Quality, Compliance & Sustainability
- Ensure supplier compliance with quality, service, and sustainability standards
- Partner with Quality and other teams to resolve supplier issues and drive continuous improvement
- Support sustainable sourcing and ESG initiatives with key suppliers
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Quality, Marketing, Sustainability, and Innovation teams
- Support new product development (NPD) projects, ensuring sourcing aligns with timelines, cost, and quality targets
- Operate effectively in a matrix organization across regions and business units.
What we are looking for
- Strong end-to-end experience in Procurement roles; FMCG and Vegetal/Cereals Category experience preferred in international/matrix structure.
- Knowledge of procurement policies, compliance, cost optimization and supplier value creation
- Experience running RFI/RFQ/RFP and proficient in ERP / S2P tools (SAP, Ariba, Jaggaer).
- Strong analytical, financial, and negotiation skills
- Excel and data analytics skills for cost, offer, and ROI assessments
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities
- Hands-on, results-driven with solid project management skills
- Fluent in English and Spanish. Other foreign languages (Italian, French) desired.
- Availability to travel up to 10% of the time.
