Your role
We are looking for a Production Planning Responsible for the Production team, who will report to Production Manager at the Mantova plant. In this role, you will be responsible for the production planning and scheduling of the Mantova plant. This role involves ensuring the availability, feasibility, and execution of the production plan, as well as guaranteeing the availability of accurate production data (physical and digital). The objective is to maximize service, minimize stock, and achieve maximum efficiency, ensuring compliance with Safety, Quality, and Environmental guidelines. The role requires close collaboration with various departments, including Procurement, Quality, Warehouse, and Sales, to anticipate and resolve potential issues and ensure smooth production operations.
What you will do
- Production Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop, implement, and maintain the weekly and monthly production plan for extrusion and packaging, considering market priorities, stock coverage, and potential disruptions.
- Review and adjust the production plan daily, considering orders, stock levels, scheduled shutdowns, maintenance, and unforeseen events.
- Ensure the consistency and feasibility of the production plan, considering process constraints and production settings (shifts, opening days).
- Data and System Management:
- Ensure the reliability and synchronization of SAP information with operations.
- Maintain internal production master data.
- Guarantee the availability and reliability of production data in the systems (MRP and MES).
- Collaboration and Coordination:
- Collaborate with Procurement, Quality, and Warehouse teams to anticipate and address potential supply chain issues.
- Coordinate with other departments for production tests, new product launches, and special sample productions.
- Work closely with the ONE team to ensure optimal planning, considering upstream (raw materials, packaging, stocks, capacity, maintenance) and downstream (supply chain, stock) constraints.
- Performance and Improvement:
- Monitor plan adherence and analyze deviations.
- Define and implement continuous improvement plans.
- Anticipate future capacity and stock issues.
- Track performance indicators, analyze variances, and support teams in achieving targets.
- Safety, Quality, and Environment:
- Ensure production planning activities comply with safety, quality, environmental, hygiene, and food safety standards and procedures.
- Adhere to and promote safety regulations, use protective equipment, and report any safety hazards.
- Participate in internal and external audits.
- Ensure proper segregation and storage of waste.
- Participate in emergency plan activities.
Who we are looking for
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Operational Management, Production Management, Supply Chain, or Logistics.
- Basic safety training.
- Training in environmental awareness.
- Experience:
- Proven experience in production planning and control, or related fields.
- Experience in managing production and data flows in an industrial setting.
- Technical Skills:
- Strong knowledge of production processes (unloading, mixing, slurry production, extrusion, and packaging).
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP) and MES.
- Knowledge of quality standards and procedures.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and collaborate with cross-functional departments.
- Ability to anticipate and manage change.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
- Proactive, with a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to safety and environmental standards.
- Language Skills:
- Fluent in Italian.
- Working knowledge of English is a plus.
