The Security Officer is responsible to protect and secure company assets and provide a safe and secure environment for our guests and employees.  They must also place special emphasis on compliance with federal and state law, local gaming regulations and Internal Control Minimum Procedures, and company policies and procedures. 



·         Patrol assigned areas, examine doors, windows, gates, etc. to ensure that these are secure and identify safety hazards and potential breaks in security

·         Assists guests and employees as needed

·         Escort casino employees during pit drops, slot drops, jackpot verifications, fill verifications, pit fills/credits, transport chips, currency/ coin and tokens to the different requesting tables/ booths

·         Enforce state gaming laws and regulations including (but not necessarily limited to) the identification and removal of underage persons from the casino floor

·         Enforce company policies as they pertain to guest and employee conduct on the premises, document infractions and advise management where appropriate

·         Remain aware of all aspects of casino operations and attentive to any area that might need intervention or assistance

·         Accept inquiries, log and store all lost and found articles

·         Investigate employee fraud against the company and customers as directed

·         Investigate accidents reports as directed

·         Respond to verbal and/or physical altercations throughout the property and apply appropriate measures to resolve the situation

·         Respond to all emergencies such as fire, injuries, property damage, etc.; investigates and completes reports concerning the same.

·         Respond to requests for medical assistance when required and renders first aid consistent with company policy and the individual officer’s skill level and medical certification.

·         Observe departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.

·         Apprehend (where appropriate) individuals who are observed to be engaged in criminal activity and detains these individuals until they can be turned over to law enforcement authorities.

·         Attend and provide testimony in court when required.

  • Assist law enforcement officials / agents when requested to do so.
  • Meet attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, department and company policies.
  • Keep work areas clean and free of safety hazards, debris and litter
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Maintain proper department uniform, appearance and grooming stands.
  • Other duties as required.


  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • Prefer prior experience in civilian or military law enforcement, casino/hotel security, industrial security, or related field
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent customer service skills
  • Must possess excellent verbal & written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to investigate incidents, interview witnesses and draft legible, factual reports
  • Must be able to perform the following requirements”
    • Prolonged standing, walking and lifting and/or moving objects 25 pounds
  • Must have the ability to learn the federal and state laws, regulations, and Internal Control Minimum Procedures governing the Company’s local operations
  • Must have the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality concerning guests, employees and Company operations
  • Must be available to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Must have general knowledge of first aid
  • Must present a well-groomed professional appearance
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of the job



  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • Prefer prior experience in civilian or military law enforcement, casino/hotel security, industrial security, or related field



Must be able to obtain and maintain locally required certificates and licenses:

  • A valid local state driver license required. Out of state driver license must be transferred to local state within 30 days of employment.
  • Nevada: Nevada Gaming Control Registration, Alcohol Awareness Card


  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a positive/upbeat fashion utilizing English, both in oral and written form.



  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficient in money handling


  • Must have Microsoft Office experience as typing daily shift reports is required.
