Controller

A market-leading media company is seeking a Controller in our Harrisburg, PA office. This is a hands-on position responsible for the day-to-day management, planning and direction of invoicing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury management, and general ledger accounting.

Responsibilities:                                                                             

  • Planning, directing and coordinating all accounting operational functions
  • Responsible for timely, accurate and efficient accounting close on a monthly basis
  • Prepare and/or review all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis
  • Produce, develop and implement new reconciliations or enhance existing reconciliations
  • Prepare internal and external financial statements for both Corporate level consolidation and external audit review
  • Prepare and maintain support for external auditor requests
  • Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and implementing new processes
  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and procedures
  • Enhance accounting department’s use of software and integrate software into accounting processes and procedures
  • Responsible for regulatory reporting, frequently including tax reporting and payments
  • Hiring, training and retaining skilled accounting staff
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Minimum of seven years of relevant experience 
  • Prefer a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or professional accreditation such as certified public accountant (CPA)
  • Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued

The position is based in Harrisburg, PA. The position will be in office daily for the first 2-3 months, but could transition to up to two days remote work subsequent to successful orientation to the role’s responsibilities.
