What makes an AFF UX Designer:


  • American First Finance is seeking a UX Designer to join our growing team. This individual will be partnering with internal stakeholders and team members to execute technical projects to improve the user experience for our digital platforms, which include financial services, bank compliance, merchant services and more. We are seeking someone who is highly detail oriented, flexible, and can prioritize and communicate effectively in a fast-paced environment. This position will directly contribute to and influence the design of our family of products.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Consults with business stakeholders and software architects to analyze and obtain information on limitations or capabilities for data processing projects
  • Analyze user needs and conduct testing and work with tools such as Full Story to identify problems with current and new user experiences. Identify design problems and devise elegant solutions. 
  • Develop or direct final solutions, wireframes, and walk through. Present to software engineers and provide support to the development teams. 
  • Utilize user design best practices to design solutions that meet business needs. 
  • Prepare reports or correspondence concerning project specifications, activities, or status.
  • Collaborate with other team members, software architects, data analyst and other stakeholders. 
  • Modify software programs to improve performance.
  • Assess database performance.
  • Collaborate with others to resolve information technology issues.
  • Collaborate with others to determine design specifications or details.
  • Communicate design ideas and user flows to developers & product teams 
  • Work with IT team members to troubleshoot issues and/or UI questions.
  • Perform post production review to ensure successful implementation and work with production support team members to research any issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Keep up with compliance training
  • Train users to use new or modified equipment.

 

Qualifications:


  • Minimum of 4 years of experience
  • Bachelor’s in Arts, Science, Computer Sciences, or equivalent 
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suites, specifically using XD 
  • Familiar with Microsoft products 
  • Strong oral and written communication. 

 

Preferred Skills:


  • Experience with CSS, HTML5, JavaScript
  • Experience in Financial Services industry in an operational capacity.  
  • Prior experience and knowledge of installment and lease/rent to own agreements
