What makes an AFF B2B Marketing Strategist:

  • The B2B Marketing Strategist is the Marketing counterpart to the Sales Teams – working directly with National Sales, Field Sales, and Inside Sales. This position will work together with Sales to identify how AFF can add value to the industries we serve, building recognition, trust, and rapport.  They are responsible for the top of the merchant (B2B) marketing funnel - building brand awareness and driving demand generation / acquisition efforts. It is their sole purpose to generate merchant demand by developing acquisition marketing strategies and working with support groups to fully execute strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive marketing roadmaps that include marketing strategies to build brand awareness, build trust within applicable verticals, generate demand, nurture leads, and activate merchants. 
  • Lead strategy and development of sales materials for all Sales Teams; including but not limited to pitch decks, flyers, handouts, videos, scripts, web pages/lead forms, and case studies.
  • Collaborate with Sales Teams to coordinate trade event participation; propose and drive event promotions, pre-and-post show strategies, and ensure the appropriate tracking is in place to measure ROI.
  • Develop a comprehensive marketing roadmap to drive demand generation and merchant acquisition with the goal to create, expand, and diversify the B2B lead generation strategy across top verticals.
  • Constantly be aware of and intimately familiar with the top 10 merchant prospects and build Account Based Marketing strategies to engage them.
  • Understand where marketing and sales professionals are getting their information today and build partnerships, co-marketing, and sponsorship opportunities to run campaigns that capture new merchant leads into the database.
  • Work with Data Sciences and Marketing Analysts to develop reporting to monitor the top of the sales funnel and to measure marketing programs.
  • Track results of marketing experiments and follow the data to craft strategy updates to lift key performance metrics – present these results and optimization recommendations on a regular basis.
  • Maintain relationships with marketing counterparts trade publications and buying groups.
  • Collaborate with counterparts and across departments to provide oversight and bring your ideas to life.
  • Facilitate and send reports to Sales counterparts and other key stakeholders as needed.
  • Prioritize strategies and projects based on revenue opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in B2B marketing with a proven track record of successfully launching acquisition/demand generation marketing strategies.
  • Demonstrated success developing and launching B2B marketing strategies, including experience with Account Based Marketing initiatives.
  • Experience developing strategies for trade shows & lead nurturing.
  • Solid knowledge of demand generation funnels and tactics used at each stage within the funnel.
  • Proven record of working with sales to exceed targets. 
  • Understand data on a deep level – must have the ability to know what metrics to consider in any situation.
  • Opinionated about creative – not expected to be an expert at design and copy but can recognize strong creative elements when you see them.
  • Strong work ethic, project management and organization skills with an eye for detail and the ability to bring an idea to life with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to apply logical thinking to break complex problems into component parts.
  • Ability to communicate and advocate ideas as well as execute and be hands-on.
  • Ability to work cross functionally at all levels of the organization.
