Adventure Montessori is a Montessori School seeking Lower Elementary Assistant Teachers to support our Elementary Program!  

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a 4-year degree, preferably in education AND a Montessori credential  

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:00pm 

Compensation: $48,000 $62,000 a year, based on education and experience

Our Hiring Process:

Main Job Responsibilities:   

  • Work with the Elementary team to prepare, implement, and maintain the Upper Elementary classroom environment.  
  • Guide and direct the children’s activities academically, emotionally, and physically in a prepared Montessori environment that challenges each child to reach his/her fullest potential.  
  • Oversee the safety and physical well-being of the children at all times and protect the privacy and working atmosphere of the class at all times. 
  • Participate in the development and implementation of new curricula. 
  • Maintain effective, detailed, and positive parent communication. Be proactive in sharing your knowledge with parents. 
  • Support positive communications among the administration, staff, children, and parents.  
  • Maintain curriculum planning, observational and academic records, including progress reports; plan, prepare, submit, and share lesson plans as required by Director.  
  • Report all unusual or significant incidents and accidents immediately, including preparing a written report stating the date, time, nature of the incident, action taken and notify parents.  
  • Provide input to the Director on recommendations regarding re-enrollment, rejection or dismissal of any child as required, make recommendations for testing or special needs services to the Director. 
  • Maintain training requirements for the position in coordination with your administrative staff according to State Licensing Education guidelines.  
  • Be a mentor to new teachers and help them successfully transition into their role and the school.  
  • Is a team player who can flexibly share spaces and responsibilities. 
  • Comply with all policies and procedures outlined in the Staff Handbook and adhere to AMS guidelines and professional standards. 
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs. 
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
