The Opportunity
 
Adept Group is seeking a Senior Packaging Engineer in Chattanooga, TN to join our team! This role will focus on developing packaging solutions for vitamins and OTC products, with an emphasis on user-friendly design (easy open/close) and accelerating speed to market.
 
You’ll work in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to bring new packaging concepts from idea through commercialization. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, ownership, and working across the full packaging lifecycle.
 
This is a hybrid role that would require 3-days in office.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Leads complex projects or assignments within large projects with minimal supervision. 
  • Lead packaging qualification activities by generating packaging protocols, overseeing test execution, analyzing test data, and authoring qualification reports.
  • Provide technical expertise for packaging risk assessments and failure mode/root cause analyses.
  • Lead the improvement and standardization of packaging on existing products with focus on performance and cost effectiveness
  • Plan and execute a design of experiments. Perform statistical analysis on data generated from experiments and write final reports.
  • Initiate and coordinate packaging line trials including planning, conducting and post-trial activities.
  • Partner with purchasing and production departments to determine costs and feasibility of producing proposed packaging
  • Lead internal and external relationships to effectively influence and gain support for initiatives.
  • Able to identify areas of cost savings or improvements to new and on market products
Requirements: 
  • 5–10 years of packaging or R&D experience within consumer products (B2C or B2B)
  • Strong technical background in primary packaging development, including design, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with packaging specification, testing, and qualification
  • Working knowledge of tooling and molding processes
  • Ability to operate across both innovation and commercialization efforts
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities

Compensation Range: $105,000 - $125,000
