What is the Opportunity


Reporting to the Vice-President, Core Fixed Income, you will assist in developing and implementing the investment strategy for the Core fixed income team. You will be responsible for supporting Portfolio Managers in the day-to-day trading, portfolio construction and risk management across a variety of mandates. You will provide support and advice for the bond administration process, for the marketing and client service teams, and perform other corporate functions as required.

 What you will do


• Work within a team environment to develop the ongoing fixed income strategy for all Addenda Core 
Fixed Income investment clients;
• Contribute to the management of all Core fixed income portfolios across a variety of Canadian fixed 
income securities; 
• Help ensure that the portfolio strategy and risk allocation are adhered to, across portfolios; 
• Participate in weekly tactical fixed income meetings, and quarterly forecast and strategy 
meetings; 
• Contribute to corporate credit research and participate in corporate strategy;
• Execute trades on fixed income securities;
• Contribute to reporting requirements for specific clients and help as needed for reporting;
• Provide direction and support to the Operational team on securities information and trade issues as 
required for the bond portfolio;
• Represent Addenda’s Core Fixed Income team appropriately in various functions when liaising with
clients and the investment community (e.g. CFA Institute, Investment Dealers).

What you will need to succeed


Experience and Knowledge


• University degree;
• CFA designation; 
• 3 to 7 years of experience in fixed income trading, risk management and/or portfolio construction;
• Knowledge of financial information systems and sources such as Bloomberg and Excel.
• Technical proficiency in VBA, SQL, Python is an asset;

• A demonstrated high degree of initiative, leadership and resourcefulness;
• Strong oral and written communication skills; 
• Knowledge of French is an asset.
